An amazing place where I spent 5 weeks! It has a large green area with only 5-7 small standalone cottages. There are many animals and birds, and most importantly, they don’t make noise at night. Nearby is Jungle Beach, one of the few places in Weligama where swimming is comfortable since the waves are far away. The staff is wonderful—always polite and quick to resolve any issues, though there were very few during my stay. Communication was very smooth and comfortable! I talked to many people on the island, and I believe it’s hard to find a better place—hot water, good Wi-Fi, lots of greenery, no noise from roads or trains, air conditioning, excellent service, and only 7 minutes by bike to Weligama. Highly recommended!

Place is amazing! Super friendly staff. Everyone was really helpful. Mr. And Mrs. Dias are very welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. Room was very clean and bathroom was new and big. Ac worked perfectly. Location also perfect. Will definitely come back.

Our stay at the Watergate Resort in Weligama was fantastic! Rooms: The rooms were spacious, beautifully simple, and very cozy – everything was clean and well-maintained, making it easy to feel at home. Beach & Surf: The location is ideal, just a short walk to a lovely beach and a great surf spot. Perfect for relaxing by the sea or catching some waves. Relaxed Atmosphere: The calm and welcoming vibe made it the perfect spot to unwind. The staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We’d highly recommend this resort!

Price/quality rate 10/10. Excellent choice if you prefer to live in quiet and green areas of Weligama rather than in the city center. Beach is 5 minutes by motorbike. A wonderful kitchen with everything you need for cooking. Fresh and comfortable rooms. Parking for several bikes or cars. Wonderful homestay, thanks Dinuka.

Lawrence Villa is of very good quality combined with a great location. The room is very big and you have a separate kitchen to prepare food in. The apartment is very quiet and perfect for someone who is looking for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was very delicious and big consisting of fresh fruit and tasty local dishes. The garden is very beautiful and relaxing with many different kind of trees, flowers and birds. I highly recommend this place and will stay here again when visiting Weligama.
