The room was very comfortable, clean, well equipped and well maintained. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were delightful, extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I will definitely return.

We, my girlfriend and I, have experienced our stay as a wonderful journey. When we arrived, we were faced with a closed gate, but within seconds the owner arrived. After checking in, we entered the room – perfect! A nice big bed, a clean and spacious bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and everything you could need! After having a little chat, the hotel owner asked about our plans. We mentioned that we came for the nature and tranquility, and without hesitation, he offered to show us around the area. This was the start of an experience we will never forget. 🙏 First, we went to a small waterfall, very local with no tourists – just some local youngsters hanging out who even offered us a beer. Then he took us to Diyaluma Falls – what a massive waterfall that was! He offered us lunch, which he had made himself! A sandwich we’ll never forget; it was incredibly delicious. Next, we visited Buduruwagala Rock Carvings, where the owner introduced us to Buddhism. The place was surrounded by nature – trees, plants, birds – pure enjoyment. We thought we were heading back to the hotel, but nothing could be further from the truth. We visited real monks, where we received blessings and a white bracelet from an elderly monk. They also offered us boiled corn – so tasty! After the visit, we continued back to the hotel. On the way, we ran into a friend of the owner, who invited us to their home. When we arrived, the whole family was there to meet us. What kind and friendly people! They offered us tea and chocolate biscuits, and my girlfriend even received a gift! It gave us such a happy feeling, something we will cherish forever. ❤️ Then it was time to head back to the hotel – or so we thought. Instead, we went elephant spotting! Yes, you read that right – real wild elephants! It got quite late, but we spotted several wild animals, including both a male and female elephant. This, too, will stay with us forever.

How much do you have to dislike your hotel for everything to be dirty?

The hosts take an enormous amount of care to make their guests are treated well and feel happy. On arrival we were greated with a pot of tea and advice about the area, where to eat and an offer to visit the famous cliff Buddha statues at Buduruwagala. Which are definitely worth the tuktuk trip. Water is always on tap. The Sri Lankan breakfast for 2 cooked by mama host would have been enough for 4. Wonderful! The place is a green oasis in the town centre. Even the shower water was cold from the hills towards Ella.

We can highly recommend staying at Hunama Heights in Koslanda. The accommodation is very clean and offers breathtaking views. From here, we had the chance to observe many monkeys and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The owner took us to the Diyaluma Falls and spent half the day with us there. Thanks to him, we discovered some amazing spots and felt completely safe throughout. The food on-site was also very diverse and delicious. The hosts are incredibly warm and welcoming, and we felt right at home. I will definitely come back again!

We stayed 3 nights at Ella nine peaks and I wish we stayed longer. The location is a little out of the way but this is compensated by the beautiful views, fresh air and quaint rooms. We woke to birdsong every morning and even saw fireflies on the roof at night. The showers deserve a special mention too. We were a group of 6 so we had the whole villa to ourselves which was wonderful. Roshan and Bandara took such good care of us and were very attentive. We found ourselves missing them, our conversations and the amazing food they served us (Bandara is the best cook!) as much as our stay there.

From the very beginning, communication was excellent. Thihara (the son) helped us arrange transportation from Kirinda to their accommodation, and during our stay, his father was always available whenever we needed a tuk-tuk. The prices were reasonable as well. The host mentioned that we were the first guests to stay with them with a child, and believe me, they went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. They are an incredibly caring and kind family. The bed was comfortable, we had hot water, the internet was fast, and all the essentials were always at our disposal. Our only regret is that it rained all three days in Ella, so we couldn't fully experience its magical beauty in good weather. However, during our time indoors, the hosts took great care of us—bringing us tea, fresh juices, snacks, and sweets. On our last evening, they even prepared a lovely dinner for us, which was a truly thoughtful gesture. Book this accommodation and let them pamper you!
