Katiusca is truly the most sweet, kind, generous, warm, and welcoming host. She literally welcomed us with open arms and was so kind to us from the very first message when we had booked our stay months prior. We feel like we made a new friend! She went out of her way to explain and answer our questions regarding restaurant reservations and activities in the area. She verified times for us for the little train that goes around Bellinzona, which is an adorable little train ride and she gave us tips about the local markets and was so attentive to our every need. She offered us lovely goods from the bakery for breakfast and the vanilla croissant was so delicious and the bread she provided every day for us was some of the best bread we've ever had! And the view from our "Blue Balance" room was absolutely stunning! It had a floor to ceiling window with a gorgeous balcony and we could see the mountains and the town and the castles and there aren't enough woods in the world to say how fabulous the view was and we were able to see from the comfort of our room fireworks on New Year's Eve. The view from the shared kitchen was lovely and we were able to heat some basic things on the stove. There was no microwave but it wasn't necessary for us. She is such a lovely person and gave extra pillows in the room at our request because we were recovering from an injury. She gave us beautiful gifts when we left and offered us fantastic Prosecco when we arrived. All in all it was an extraordinary exceptional stay and we highly recommend it. She is a truly kind warm and welcoming person.

This was one of the most beautiful and luxurious places where we have ever stayed! Our room with huge terrace was gorgeous, both modern and functional, and tastefully designed with antique furniture. The bed was large and very comfortable. We slept with the double doors wide open, and woke up with a view of the mountains. Since the weather was good, we spent much time on the terrace, which was our extended living room. The fancy espresso maker in the room did not have decaf capsules, so after mentioning this to our hosts, they graciously provided a different espresso maker in the shared kitchen. That kitchen has everything you could wish for. The bathroom attached to our room was new and gorgeous, with a bathtub as well as a shower.

The room was incredibly clean, very comfortable, and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The private parking was great! The owners were caring and very attentive, they truly took care of us. It’s very close to the train station, so it was very easy to get around.

We enjoyed a lovely little stay with Richie for four nights in B&B Chiarina in Valle Di Muggio a small, quaint and quite little town in the Ticino Region. The hospitality, warmth and reception that we have received from Richie is something we had never even experienced before in our homeland as well. I was in Mendrisio for work and happened to come across Richie's beautiful property on Booking.com and as highly as his property is spoken of already here are some of the many things that made staying with Richie truly a gratifying experience- 1) Richie was kind to pick us up from Mendrisio Stazione and drove us down to his beautiful property in Muggio Paise. 2) The property reeks of a beautiful medieval vibe, with cobbled stone flooring, Ticino paintings, wooden fire place and a spectacular view of the Ticino peaks topping it all off from the room. 3) You get to enjoy an excellent breakfast spread fresh from the Ticino Farms- Eggs, meats,cheese, breads, croissant, fruits, yoghurt, cereals, juices, coffee, and the most incredible home-made marmalade and pies baked by his wife. 4) The property is very conveniently located 2 minutes away from the Muggio Paise bus station.Richie very kindly had arranged for a Ticino Pass for us that helped us explore some beautiful places like Lugano, Locarno, Asccona, Bellinzona. 5) The property is brilliantly maintained with regular housekeeping service. Feel free to enjoy the best of swiss toffee, coffee, and chocolates at B&B Chiarina. Life does reward one with incredible encounters, and meeting Richie was nothing short of an exceptional experience of seeing grace, kindness, humility, and generosity up close.
