From arrival we felt welcomed. The hotel is well designed, the rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. There are so many little touches to make it feel you’ve arrived to stay with family or friends. Our host Irene is enthusiastic and super helpful. Offering suggestions and help for every travel question (and we had many)!! Breakfast was ample and covered all the bases as to offerings that were fresh and yummy! Our airport transfers went smoothly. Excellent drivers in both directions. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our days here and highly recommend Casa Alegria as a great base to visit the northern end of Santiago.

It is very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The house is a mini mansion and was better than what we expected. Maria and Yannick made us feel comfortable and treated us like we were family. We loved their sweet breakfast, too.

Alcino is very friendly and helpful, whenever I sent him a message, he responded very fast. We liked this big house, we were feeling like at home, it's close to the beach, to the center of the town, to the diving center, to the restaurant, only 5 to 10 minutes walk to most of the places. If someday I'd come again to Tarrafal, I'm sure I'd come to this accommodation again!

Tugged away from the rest of the world, Ja opened a room of her ancestor's home to guests who would like to experience what it's like to live in Cape Verdian raw country side - which includes being offline, taking cold showers with a bucket and a mug, sleeping in pin drop silence (apart from the roosters), walking in the steep hills, etc. One can go with a shared taxi until the roundabout of Sao Domingos. From there, a local can come and pick you up for 300 ESC, or you can walk (it's absolutely safe, the locals are friendly and helpful, location on the map is accurate). They can also drop you to the airport for 1500 ESC, and it just takes 30mins to reach. Ja knows how to cook for vegetarians, too. She is a witty and interesting host to talk to. I am still amazed at the purity and simplicity of this place, and hope to be back one day.

Die Lage war ein Traum, die Anlage wurde liebevoll gepflegt. Überall Kakteen und viele weitere Pflanzen . Vor Ort hat uns Mamadu umsorgt , wie eine Mama und per WhatsApp hat Cintia alles organisiert. Egal, ob es um die Zutaten zum Frühstück ging oder die Fahrt zum Airport. Wir hatten erst das einfachste Zimmer gebucht, konnten aber spontan wechseln.

Enjoying dinner with a glorious sea view was one of the many treats the hotel offered. The ambiance was frequently enhanced by live music, turning the meal into a cultural celebration. We were thoroughly impressed by the talented lineup, including Zerui, Albertino, Manuel di Candinho, Humberto Ramos, and Rui di Betina, among others. ​ ​What truly sets Djeu View apart is its staff. Every member of the team—from the amazing bar, hotel, and kitchen staff—went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Their commitment to service was evident, and their warm hospitality made us feel truly welcomed, like family. They genuinely went the extra mile to make our 10-day vacation perfect. ​Djeu View Hotel provided much more than just accommodation; it offered a beautiful, authentic, and high-quality Cape Verdean experience. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Praia.
