This quaint, historic grade II listed property is 9 minutes' drive from York Dungeon and JORVIK Viking Centre. York Castle Museum is 13 minutes' drive away. Comfortable room, spacious, beds were ridiculously comfortable and soft! Bathroom was gorgeous and the whole space was lovely for us as a family of 5. Short walk into town aswell which was great!

Breakfast is served until 10:00 on a weekend, and until 9.30 from Monday to Friday. The Bar Convent is a hidden treasure in York. It's history is unique, the place is simply amazing. We had an unforgettable experience. The facilities, service, surroundings, everything was perfect. And it even has air conditioning! (Was really necessary)

There is a bus stop outside of Ascot House, which has regular services to the city centre. York boasts many historical sites including Cliffords Tower, York Minster and the Medieval Walls. Beautiful victorian style building with lots of space and a four poster bed. Friendly welcome from Lisa who allowed an early check in and provided some priceless tourist advice with a map. Great breakfasts and spotlessly clean

The individually designed bedrooms at Wheeldale each have a private bathroom and a flat-screen TV with Sky channels. Some rooms have seating areas and impressive sea views, and all rooms have tea/coffee facilities. We loved our stay at The Wheeldale and won't hesitate to come back! Immaculately clean room, lovely staff and we slept great during our stay. Check-in was quick and simple and we got some handy tips for the area. Shower pressure was very good too (which I personally find important).

Whilst enjoying a quiet position, the privately owned property looks onto the city walls and is just 5 minutes' stroll from the Shambles. York Railway Station can be reached within a 10-minute walk. Good location with easy access to York centre. Staff are very welcoming and friendly.

At the guest house, every unit is equipped with a wardrobe, a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, bed linen and towels. Each unit is fitted with a kettle, while certain rooms come with a terrace and others also boast sea views. The units are equipped with heating facilities. You won't find a better hotel at this price point. The area is lovely and the view from the terrace is the best in town. The owner is absolutely determined to make this work and puts in a huge effort. My daughter left her toy here and he posted it back to us, which was extremely kind. In future, I would go for one of the king rooms as the double rooms are standard doubles.
