I loved everything about this property. The hotel was beautiful and the staff were very kind and friendly. They even have a in house baker who serves delicious buns in the after noon. Breakfast was amazing.

Beautiful location in Shela village, stunning gardens around the hotel and a short walk to Shela Beach which goes on forever. The restaurant at Kijani is amazing, better than Peponi! Definitely have the Kijani Crab Curry!

The house is a traditional Swahili house, with a beautiful terrace and views, a tastefully decorated interior with all the necessary amenities and a well stacked kitchen, which is always a plus with kids. Our host Abadalla is quite simply the best host I’ve ever had - and we travel quite a bit. He was kind, thoughtful and basically carefully planned our entire stay, coordinating tours, recommending awesome local spots and day activities along the way. He took take of it all, from airport pick up, to sunset Dhow, to Lamu tour, he negotiated the prices and made the trip ultra smooth. He also served us beautiful breakfast every morning, with a large variety of fruits, Swahili pastries, omelettes, etc. He also stocked the fridge and made sure we always had drinking water for a very reasonable fee. The nicest and warmest guy, who also shared many special moments with us, and shared stories and history of Lamu as well. We would highly recommend Shela Bliss to anyone. An outstanding experience!

There is a great restaurant next door With delicious food and you can always pop over to Sheila (5 min boat ride) for some activity if you feel too quiet on the island 🏝️ 👍

Andavelo House ligt in Lamu met uitzicht op de stad en heeft een restaurant, een gratis shuttleservice, bar, tuin, buitenzwembad dat het hele jaar door open is en terras. From the beginning, Mr Safari and the team were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. We loved how helpful Safari was from meeting us off the boat to personally escorting us to the airport. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious. The dinner was excellent - we would highly recommend ordering the fresh crab!

Beautiful architecture. Comfortable. Breakfast was Amazing for $5 USD. Get a lot for your money. Staff are wonderful.

Dit historische gebouw in Arabische stijl ligt in de door UNESCO beschermde stad Lamu. Het ligt op minder dan 300 meter van de kust en op 3 km van het witte zandstrand. Gorgeous house with amazing swahili flair, lovely hosts. Seems like they contribute to the Lamu community in a big way, they are well known and loved with everyone I spoke to. Hotel staff will help you organize any outing you‘d like, I can recommend Dhow trips, but they also help with other activities (plus reasonable pricing recommendations). Eco friendly facilities and the breakfast is amazing with ingredients sourced almost exclusively from their own Lamu farm.

Baytulkher is gelegen op een paar minuten lopen van 18th Century Swahili House Museum, en biedt accommodatie met een buitenzwembad, een terras en een 24-uursreceptie. Er is gratis WiFi. My family and I so had a fantastic time at Baytulkher. The food was yummy, the house is beautiful and spacious, the swimming was perfect for young kids and the sunset view from the roof was delightful. The location is relatively quiet for Lamu town, not far from the port and the fan really helped us to sleep well. Malik was so kind, helpful and accommodating. He helped us with transport, drinks, mosquitos nets for the sofa bed and much more. I would highly recommend here. For the price you pay, you really do get a lot. We are very grateful to have found here. They have listened to the comments made in previous reviews, as issue like hot water have definitely been resolved and we received cleaning each day.
