Charitha Rest is gelegen in Ampara en heeft een tuin, een gedeelde lounge, een terras, en gratis WiFi. Charitha and his family were great hosts and extremely attentive to all our needs (ready to go above and beyond). The food was delicious, the room was large and clean with an air conditioning that worked almost too well, there is a seating area in the garden from which you can hear birds and witness monkeys walking along the electrical wires. The property is walking distance (30 min) from Owagiriya Natabun Viharaya (Buddhist temple ruins) and as we were on our way Charitha kindly gave us a lift, as well as to another destination later during our stay. Both the father and mother are absolute sweethearts, and are more than happy to sit down with you for a chat (I had a little well needed Sinhalese crash course). From what I can see they are building more rooms/bungalows and a restaurant in the back, but as of February 2025 it truly had that quaint local feel I look for when I travel.

Loved the garden and the breakfast. It’s freshly made, every morning something different and super delicious. Very short walk to the beach. The host is so nice. He would be able to plan safari for you, a trip to the jungle with the motorbike, surf lessons, …. Would come back for sure 🩵

Forcus Cabanas ligt in Arugam Bay en biedt rustige en rustige accommodatie te midden van weelderig tropisch groen. Het biedt een 24-uursreceptie en comfortabele kamers met gratis WiFi. We loved everything about this place! The staff is something else - so kind, helpful and welcoming. They make the best breakfast with everything one could dream of :-) Thanks to you three for making our one week stay so memorable. Besides that the location of the hotel was priceless: close to everything (the beach, restaurants etc.) yet so quiet and private. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Arugam Bay! And we’d love to come back.

Vinka’s place is a little piece of quiet garden paradise just a short walk from the surf spot! I loved the peaceful atmosphere, the lush garden, and how comfortable and clean the cabanas were. Vinka was super helpful and kind throughout my stay — always available if I needed anything. Everything was perfect, and I felt totally at home. I’ll definitely come back one day. Highly recommended for surfers and nature lovers alike!

Surf Dream Villa Arugambay ligt in Arugam Bay, op 7 minuten lopen van Arugam Bay Beach, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een terras en een restaurant. We spent a great week at Apple's place. He's is very kind and helpful, full of good advice. The breakfast is delicious. The place is convenient, super close to the beach and all the restaurants but still in a calm village road. We would definitely come back!

Baywatch Arugambay ligt in Arugam Bay, op een paar minuten lopen van Arugam Bay Beach, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren en een terras. De kamer was ruim met een fijn groot bed. Het was schoon en allemaal nog vrij nieuw! Je kan ook heerlijk op de veranda chillen. We hebben extra nachten bijgeboekt. Ook de locatie was precies goed. Net rustig afgelegen maar binnen no time ben je bij de hoofdstraat en de gezelligheid.

Villa Luxez is gelegen in Kalmunaikudiyiruppu, op 40 km van Kokkadicholai Hindu Temple, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren en een gedeelde lounge. De gastvrijheid van de hoteleigenaar was ongeëvenaard. Hij heeft ons een volledige (food) tour gegeven en zelfs de wilde olifanten laten zien. Raad het zeker aan om hier een nachtje te verblijven als je het echte Sri Lanka wil zien.
