Considering that there are almost no shops and no evening life in Kirinda, it is very (very!) important to select a good hotel to have access to good food and some entertainment - pool and good chat. This hotel can offer you this.

We booked the tour through the guesthouse. The room was perfect for a quick stay and the family was really nice and helped with everything. We also just got a juice after our safari from the host.

We liked the dinner, the best chicken curry we tried so far in Sri Lanka, also there was a desert, we liked a lot. The room was clean, sanitized, everything was great, the view from our room was great. Mr. Inbaraj also treat us with the best papaya juice, coffee and the plantation harvests. We are so grateful and happy that we choose this place for our stay in Yala. The place is also near the Yala park, which was great as well.

At the bed and breakfast, all units come with bed linen and towels. We spent two nights in this little resort at a lonely beach right next to Yala NP. We just wanted to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. You can stroll along the long beach, collect shells and watch the sea birds. The owner Hansa and his assistant and cook made us feel very comfortable and served us delicious meals and great breakfasts with big fruit plates, once even the Sri Lankan style breakfast. The curries and the fish dishes were outstanding and very tasty! It was a three-course meal every evening cooked just for us! The price for these meals was absolutely okay for us. Hansa is a very knowledgeable person who can tell you a lot of interesting things about life in Sri Lanka if you ask him. We especially enjoyed sleeping outside on the big porch where there are three beds to relax in during day and night. The unforgettable highlight of our stay, however, was watching an elephant at about four o’clock in the morning, eating some leaves from his favorite tree next to the main house and then passing silently by the veranda where we were breathless (and a little nervous) onlookers!

I strongly advice you book your safari with your host. He’s a confident driver with a keen eye for leopards. Don’t think saving money will serve you well, take a private tour. The guest house is situated close to the park and near to the road the dissects the park. Take an evening safari on the road if you can. The accommodation is very clean. I found it hard to leave these lovely people.

Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, AC rooms and the hospitality of Priya makes it the best! He helped us arrange the safari in Yala, took us bird and crocodile watching in the evening 😊 and picked us up and dropped us at the bus station. Can’t wait to be back, thanks Priya!
