Location was perfect for our weekend getaway to visit places in Vermont and get some hiking in the Presidentials. The house has very cool history - Thomas Edison originally wired the house and many dignitaries have stayed in the house (Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio, a few Presidents, etc.). The town is classic New England - one road, super cute eateries, restaurants, and an amazing ice cream shop (we went every night). Pro tip - get to your choice of restaurant early or after 7:30 or so). They don’t take reservations and since they are the only places in town, the waits are 45-60 minutes during prime time hours. But, the food was great everywhere we went.

After several days of anonymous motels it was good to find this peronnalized house . Excellent breakfeat while facing the garden with birds and firepit at night. A lovely stay.

The owner John greeted us when we arrived, he explained the history & renovation of the property and made us feel genuinely welcome.
