We had the pleasure of staying at this property, and it was a fantastic experience. Nakaya Ryokan was the best place we stayed on our trip to Japan. The hotel is beautiful, the rooftop onsens were a highlight and the staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and welcoming. We will 100% come back one day.

Exceeded my expectations. The views from the room and the rooftop onsen were gorgeous, the meals were consistently great, the location was a great point from which to explore the town, and the staff were, without exception, friendly and attentive.

The atmosphere was unlike anywhere I have been before, the mountains, room, hotel decor and the river at the bottom were exceptional. The staff were very helpful and the half board dinner and breakfast were superb. The private outdoor bath on the balcony is a wonderful place to just sit and take in your surroundings.
