Kasbah Maktob is enchanting, like staying in a comfortable museum full of Berber artifacts; one is surrounded by Amazigh culture. Also provided by wonderful host Mustapha, a sculptor and musician who will play and sing after supper on the traditional gimbri, the Moroccan bass. We stayed in the top room, the family room, spacious with an incredible view from its balcony out over the palm oasis. Kasbah Tamnougalt is my favourite in Morocco, and Kasbah Maktob sits within its ancient walls. Mustapha is also a fabulous cook, so meals were delicious. One of my favourite places to stay in Morocco -- don't miss Tamnougalt and the Agdz area. Beautiful.

This place is beautiful. The grounds are green and peaceful, the room was warm, spotlessly clean and comfortable and the food was delicious. The building itself is also breathtaking. Went for a Hamam and massage which was a great experience. The massage in particular was fantastic, thank you! The location allows for strolls through the palm trees and around the ksar next door. Could happily spend a good few days here, sadly we only had time for one!

It's an absolutely amazing place! The rooms are really nice and the garden is amazing! The staff is very friendly and welcoming - you really feel at home there. Amazing place to stay, a true oasis in the mountains. We were welcomed as familiy and actually came back after a trip in the desert for 2 more nights. Really good food for breakfast and dinner and a truly tranquil place. Lovely hosts and Aziz took us for a tour of the different kasbahs in the area, a great experience.

Staying in this unique apartment within a deserted Ksar was an unforgettable experience. The setting is incredibly peaceful, with breathtaking views over the palm forest and lush green oasis. It’s the perfect place to disconnect and take in the beauty of the surroundings, with plenty to explore nearby. Ismael, the local host, made our stay even more special—generous with his time, knowledge, and local treats. We especially loved our walk through the garden with him—it was beautiful and full of stories. The only downside for us was the bed—being tall, we found it quite small and not ideal for a comfortable night’s sleep. If that’s a priority for you, just something to keep in mind. Still, the charm, authenticity, and peacefulness of the place made it all worth it!
