Cahuita Inn is an oasis on the southern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Exceptional value for money, standing out head and shoulders above anything else we found in Costa Rica in this mid range price bracket. Contemporary comfort, style, security, wonderful service, delicious food, calm atmosphere, beautiful hammock strewn palm grove right on the ocean, with waves rolling in on your doorstep. We had a great stay at El Colibri Rojo and ended up extending our stay to 12 days. The rooms were comfortable with AC, we enjoyed spending time at the pool and breakfast was tasty. The location was perfect for us, since we rented a car and could park at the property. We also enjoyed being just a little out of the hustle and bustle of the centre, which was only 6 minutes by car. Playa Blanca is a 6 min drive as well. The place has a very calm nature and the garden is just stunning. The hosts were very friendly and hospitable and advised us on some tours that we wanted to do, which you can book through them. Cahuita is calmer than Puerto Viejo, which is just what we needed. It’s only a 15 min drive there. And you are just a small walk away from Cahuita National Park, which we can highly recommend visiting. All in all the best place we stayed at in Costa Rica!

Kim and Flo were the very best hosts. They were helpful with information, attentive to my needs and concerns, and responsible with cleanliness. The location is very convenient and easy to find and use as a base for your stay in town. I would happily recommend and stay here again.

The house has an unusually modern and elegant design. The open design is ideal for the hot climate. You are surrounded by nature all the time. Only the bedrooms are lockable and equipped with air conditioning and very good beds. The pool is fantastic. Rarely have we experienced such a pleasant lighting concept in a house & garden in Costa Rica. Nature is very close: you can see lots of birds, butterflies and monkeys. We also liked the fact that it was only 10 minutes to a beach where you could swim safely. This house is highly recommended!

Simply stunning here. I had my birthday here and Marie and her colleagues were so kind and friendly, adding some lovely surprises to my day. The room is beautiful and from your bed you can see the mountains and morning mist rise from the valley. There are loads of spaces to sit and relax in the beautiful nature of the area. There is a well equipped Shala also with great views, the best place ever to do yoga. We also had a tour of the fruit forest which was I enjoyed and was really interesting. Marie can also arrange for you to have a yoga class and we had a lovely Tibetan singing bowl healing. A unique place to stay and I loved it
