The place is cosy, spotless, and thoughtfully arranged, making it feel like a real home away from home. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a very generous welcoming package including juice, wine, beer, and water — such a kind touch that immediately set the tone for the stay. The atmosphere throughout the property is wonderful, and breakfast was truly excellent. The staff are incredibly kind, and the manager goes above and beyond to make sure every guest feels comfortable and cared for. What makes Casa Alegria even more special is that by staying here, you’re also supporting a meaningful cause that empowers women — a detail that really adds value to the whole experience. They were also very understanding and flexible with our late flight, kindly allowing us to stay longer so we could relax before heading to the airport. All in all, it was an amazing experience and I can’t recommend Casa Alegria enough!

The shared areas as kitchen, living room, bathroom and the balcony are cleaned daily. Our room was comfortable and had all we needed. We really appreciated Cino our host, who gave us a lot of tips about where to go eat and how to best explore the island. We can only recommend him and his business.

Authentic village life at its best! Tugged away from the rest of the world, Ja opened a room of her ancestor's home to guests who would like to experience what it's like to live in Cape Verdian raw country side - which includes being offline, taking cold showers with a bucket and a mug, sleeping in pin drop silence (apart from the roosters), walking in the steep hills, etc. One can go with a shared taxi until the roundabout of Sao Domingos. From there, a local can come and pick you up for 300 ESC, or you can walk (it's absolutely safe, the locals are friendly and helpful, location on the map is accurate). They can also drop you to the airport for 1500 ESC, and it just takes 30mins to reach. Ja knows how to cook for vegetarians, too. She is a witty and interesting host to talk to. I am still amazed at the purity and simplicity of this place, and hope to be back one day.

Location: The apartment is situated in a nice quiter location with a good view from the front. Cleanliness: Everything was neat and tidy, which made for a pleasant stay. Hospitality: The host was an amazing and friendly person. His warm welcome made me feel right at home. He was always available for questions and ready to help whenever I needed it. Overall: I am very satisfied with my stay in this apartment. The combination of the great location, the tidiness, and especially the host's hospitality made my experience unforgettable. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay.

Situé à Mato Correia, l’hébergement gîte de rando haut propose un jardin, une terrasse et un restaurant. Cet appartement comprend un bar et des équipements de sports nautiques. Iolanda and Johannes are kind and welcoming hosts who make you feel at ease from the very first contact. They run a restaurant just a few minutes from home — Sabor — where the food is absolutely to die for. They have a lovely daughter, Amy, and Iolanda’s mother, Mrs. Marcolina, is a true force of nature. The apartment has everything you could possibly need, and the views are beyond words . the photos don’t do it justice. The area is perfect for those who enjoy hiking or simply taking in the surrounding nature. The locals are friendly; everyone greets you, and with some, you can even have a nice little chat. The children are absolutely adorable and offer real life lessons. Lastly, a special thanks to Iolanda’s cousin, Simone, who made me feel part of the community and helped me discover a bit more about the locals everyday life.
