At the guest house, units are equipped with a private bathroom and bed linen. Everything! It was clean, and the bathroom was spacious! So cool how Hars is building everything himself on his property. The view of the mountains is just… wow! I stayed for two nights, but I easily could’ve stayed longer. Breakfast was also delicious, with fresh fruit from the garden! The fact that there’s no air conditioning might take some getting used to, but I slept really well — the breeze flows nicely through the room thanks to the way it’s built. I’m very curious to see how things will look in a few years with all the plans Hars still has. It’s hard to imagine this place becoming anything but a hidden gem!

The staff is very polite and helpful. The bed is so comfortable that I never wanted to leave😭

The property was built in 2016 and features air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony. The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. Amazing location, Freddy the owner is such a welcoming and warm person. He gave us so many tips about travelling through sumba and recommended us to join the sunrise trekking on the hills next to the villa. We paid only 250.000 and we got an incredible sunrise! The views were stunning and he loves to share his passion for nature and culture! The villa was in great condition and the breakfast was good. Our highlight was definitely his own weaving art. He has a little shop in the reception area with local pieces. But he mentioned that his profession is being a Weaver and he has higher quality pieces in his house. He invited us to his place and showed us all his work and we were listening to him for 1 hour. The pieces are made with such beautiful patterns ans designs. We bought one, and this is our favourite souvenir of 2 months travelling through Indonesia and Vietnam. If you stay here, make sure to talk to Freddy :)

There is a private entrance at the bed and breakfast for the convenience of those who stay. The bed and breakfast has family rooms. It is een quiet piece of paradise. A bit secluded so if you want to see the surroundings you will need to rent a motorbike. The coast road to Waikuri beach is scenic and we saw just a few other cars/motors. Don't forget tot stop sometimes and look voor deserted beaches and kliffs. . The food and juices are delicious The beach is deserted and you can snorkel right from it at high tide.

Amazing stay on one of the most amazing beaches I’ve ever seen. Far away from people, WiFi etc. A great place to disconnect. Highly recommended and would love to stay again

Nayla and the other girls working are lovely. Nayla helped us so much, gave us lots of useful information to move around Sumba. We were gonna stay for one night and we ended yo staying 4. Also food is very good, definitely recommend it!

Recreational options in the area include cycling, fishing, snorkelling or village tour. The staff at Cemara were incredible. They greeted us with juice and farewelled us with bracelets. They were helpful with any questions, and provided us with a scooter, snorkel and yoga mat upon request. The staff were incredibly attentive and kind - they went above and beyond. The location is fantastic, right on the beach and great swimming at high tide. Snorkelling was only 50m out from the shore and there is a cool waterfall was about 45 minutes (by scooter) down the road. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant was well priced and we had a decent breakfast. There was always complimentary bottled water! Overall, we had a lovely, relaxing stay at Cemara.
