We stayed at Mimoza Mirissa during our whale watching trip to Mirissa on B&B basis. Everything about this little hotel is excellent. It's situated at walking distance to Mirissa fishing harbor where whale watching tours start and also less than 1.5 km from the secret beach and <1km from Mirissa town. The rooms are comfy, well maintained and come with all the amenities. The staff is very friendly and courteous and provides excellent service. And flexibility at arrangements is also noteworthy. And all of this comes at a very fair asking price. If you're visiting Mirissa area this is the easiest to recommend. But you may have to make reservations in advance. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen, full-day security and currency exchange for guests. Just amazing! Newly build, nice spacious. Perfect in our opinion and the guy is very nice and helpful. The hot water wasn’t working and he instantly fixed it. Recommend!

Located in Hiriketiya and only 2.1 km from Hiriketiya Beach, Jungle Escape Hiriketiya provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. 5.9 km from Hummanaya Blow Hole and 19 km from Weherahena Buddhist Temple, the property offers a garden and a terrace. The guest house features family rooms. I booked this property based on a review written by a family similar to ours. And the open air bathroom. We are a family of 4 with a 5 yr old girl and 2 year old boy. We rented the large family suite and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Less then 5 mins from the beach, large comfortable double beds with mosquito nets, a shared kitchenette, large comfortable bathroom with hot water and AC. The owners were such lovely accommodating people. The best part was the location. Hiritekiya is an Instagramy digital nomady hotspot, and Jungle Escape is located in the less developed part of the beach. So we were close to everything but in a more tranquil environment.

Situated in Dickwella, a few steps from Batheegama Beach, King CoCo House has a private beach area, private parking and rooms with free WiFi access. Beautiful house with local architectural details like wooden windows and wooden terrace fencing. The village of Batigama is also very authentic - there are almost no large or even medium-sized hotels, just small houses where local people live and also other small guesthouses. At the same time the guesthouse is very near to the main road that connects all the resorts on the southern coast. The best beaches in the area are Turtle beach in 5 minutes walk (good for relaxation and turtle watching) and Hiriketiya beach which is 3 km away and has bigger waves and surf lifestyle vibe. The family who owns the house is very nice. They make delicious breakfasts and also can help with useful information, such as public transport schedule or facilities in the village. The owners also have a dog that is super cute and friendly!

The Surf Lodge is beautifully decorated with a lot of love and taste. It offers amazing breakfast and a direct access to the beach. It is managed by the super kind Che who was always very attentive to help us organize a few things around the area. What we particularly loved about the hotel (apart from the amazing spacious rooms and the delicious (vegetarian) food) was that it is Che’s family home and has such a friendly and calming vibe :) it’s only a short walk to local restaurants and bars and Madiha’s main beach is also only a few minutes away. Feels like a slice of luxury for the price. High ceilings, super spaces villas, felt like a real nice homely spot. So clean, comfortable and stylish. Just 5 mins to the beach and some nice local spots to eat at near by. Would 100% recommend this spot. Family and owner were really lovely and attentive but offer space and privacy as well Also the WiFi is the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka so far! Thanks so much!

Situated just 1.3 km from Abimanagama Beach, Freedom192 features accommodation in Weligama with access to a garden, a terrace, as well as a 24-hour front desk. We stayed in the small room attached to the main house; it was perfect for us! The bathroom was sooo beautiful haha it was like an outdoor shower surrounded by rocks (pictures on the listing don’t do it justice!!). The bed was super comfy and the AC worked great! It was so nice to come back to the cool space after a day in the heat. Make sure you keep the bathroom door closed or else the mosquitoes will find their way in! The kitchen we were able to use was great and had everything we needed. Lovely family running the place as well. Location was also really nice, jungle beach is close and there’s a nice restaurant next door. Would definitely recommend!!

The guest house offers rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Quiet location, in between two beaches, Blue Beach and Hiriketiya Beach (both at about 10 minutes walking distance) that each have their own charm. The building is completely new, and the rooms and balcony are very spacious and well equipped. The balconies are connected but you have your own table and chairs. Also the interior and decorations are aesthetically pleasing. We liked that you could just make your own tea or coffee and cut your fruit. Breakfast options are literally next door, especially Maabi is a nice place. For lunch and dinner, better options are a bit of a walk (about 20 minutes) but plenty of ways to take a tuktuk.
