This rooftop studio was a great place to stay for a week in Kathmandu. It is in the historic/old city part of Kathmandu, but it's easy to get a bike or taxi nearby. The room is clean, comfortable, and furnished well. There is a kitchen, though I didn't end up using it. The bathroom is clean and modern, and it was really great to have a washing machine too. Sudarshan ji and his family are very kind and helpful! Make sure to bring earplugs, because the area gets quite loud from around 5 am onwards (roosters, dogs, temple bells, etc.) But that's part of the vibe!

What always matters more to me are the people, warm conversations and the shared experiences. And I got exactly that! In such a short time, I was leaving the guys as if they were my friends. The accommodation offers private check-in and check-out, and currency exchange for guests. Our window view was of a temple, and you are literally two blocks from Kathmandu Durbar Square. The room had charging plugs right near the bed, and each room is its own floor so the bathroom — adjacent — is private. There is a water dispenser and a kettle on each floor as well. Bobby suggested that we use the roof are to dry clothes, but he also provides a clothespin rack inside (it’s monsoon season). Bobby was super helpful — met me at the airport, showed us where to change money, helped us buy umbrellas, booked our Tourist bus to Pokhara, arranged for a taxi pickup, and each was a value-for-money experience. He let us store our luggage for our days away for a small fee. The room is only fan-cooled, but I’d gladly put up with the “a little steamy” for the location and the support.

The place is clean, well-maintained, and in a great location in Bhaktapur. But the best part was the host – kind, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. He took the time to explain things, show me around, and give great local tips. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic and pleasant stay!
