Amazing Desert Experience – Peaceful, Clean, and Unforgettable! I stayed at the desert camp for one night on my own, and it was truly one of the best travel experiences I’ve had. The camp itself was beautifully set up – very clean, peaceful, and with a truly magical atmosphere under the stars. What made the experience even more special was the amazing driver and guide, Ali. He was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and made me feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire stay. His passion for the desert and local culture really came through, and he made sure everything was perfect. Even though I was traveling alone, I never felt lonely – just completely relaxed and in awe of the stunning surroundings. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable desert experience! And the food was really nice too.

The place is absolutely beautiful — right in the middle of the dunes, super peaceful and perfect for watching the sunset and the stars at night. Our tent was cozy and comfortable, and everything was really well taken care of. But what made the experience truly special was Ali — he’s such a kind and genuine host! He made us feel completely at home. If you want a real desert experience with great vibes and an awesome host, this is the place to go. We’ll definitely come back one day!

Muscat International Airport is 199 km from the property. This was a wonderful experience and we enjoyed so much about it. Saud has created a beautiful, quiet, comfortable space for a small number of people to have an intimate experience in the desert, an homage to his experience growing up in Bidiyah. From beautiful tents to private bathrooms to wonderful food, Desert Waves is an amazing place to experience the desert, the stars, the scenery and experiences like camel rides or visits to local spots. We met some lovely people (fellow travelers) in the camp that we shared meals with, and Saud and his staff are very helpful, informative and friendly. FYI, two taxi drivers from Muscat quoted us 50 OMR each way to drive us to Bidiyah, and renting a car ourselves was less than half of that amount.

The location is spectacular and the hosts are amazing and go way above what is expected and are very generous. The dinner at the camp was absolutely fantastic. Make sure, you meet with the hosts at the entrance to the desert as it's almost impossible to find the camp on your own.

The location of the camp is great. We did the dune bashing and carting. It as absolutely stunning from the first till the last moment

His home becomes your home from the moment you arrive. Salem is a fantastic host who loves to spend time with his guests. We drank tea together, listened to music, laughed, and shared amazing home-cooked meals around one table. The boat trip was one of the highlights. Salem took us to see dolphins, fish, and an incredibly beautiful coral area in Ras al Hadd. If you’re visiting Ras al Hadd, don’t miss this place. It’s not just accommodation , it’s a genuine experience full of warmth, culture, and Omani hospitality. Plus, Salem speaks Italian, which is a great bonus for Italian travelers. We would definitely come back. A beautiful place, delicious food, and an amazing host. Thank you, Salem, for making us feel at home.

A good location for a hassle-free holiday in Bidiyah, SandGlass Camp is a luxury tent surrounded by views of the city. The property features barbecue facilities, shared lounge and parking on-site among other facilities. With inner courtyard views, this accommodation features a balcony. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. The tent was nice and comfortable with just what you need: a bed and light. The host prepared a snack with fruits, a variety of dates, traditional halwa, coffee and tea for when everyone arrived. I also got to see and pet the camels, they were extremely friendly. After that I watched the sunset from the sand dunes and had dinner with everyone else which was great with lots of vegan options. Later we watched the stars and learned about different constellations.
