One of the best spots I’ve ever stayed at on an island. It’s located about 10 minutes by car from the city center (a car is a must in the island). The place was spotless, the breakfast was amazing and dinner as well. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional. The views and the peaceful atmosphere were the highlights of our stay. Quiet and secure.

This recently renovated homestay features a building dating back to 2010, which is 1.7 km from the Lagarto Beach. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. It was the clearest place we stayed during our whole stay in the country! Our flight was leaving at 7 am, but we got coffee and fruits at 4:45. Thank you so much! Wifi good, water hit, bed comfortable, very quiet location.

Guests can make use of a bar. This was the best place we stayed in Sao Tome. It is about 30 to 40 min drive from the airport. The garden in the front of the property is fabulous and well designed with many interesting plants and fruit trees. There is also a cocoa plantation through which you can take a leisurely walk. The owner, Maria, was an excellent host. She was very welcoming and friendly and she made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The food was very good and we had 3 evening meals there all of which were delicious and well presented. The Mousse au Chocolat made with cocoa from their own plantation was so good that we had it for dessert each time. The breakfast is very good too and we were given plenty of fresh fruits and fruit juice. We stayed there twice and both rooms we were given were very clean and the beds very comfortable. If you are after peace and quiet this is a fantastic place as you are surrounded by nature. There is also the option to take longer walks in the area.

The host Bernilda is very nice and helpful and the location is very central only one street away from the market.

You can enjoy city view from the room. I would highly recommend staying at Sweet Guesthouse. I stayed for one night. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the room was spacious and clean, and the location was great. The guesthouse also arranged an airport collection for me and the driver was waiting for me with a sign. This was such great value for money and I will be recommending to anyone I meet who is planning to travel to Sao Tome.
