First off the staff: amazing!!! We arrived quite late but got still welcomed with a freshly made lemonade (which was so delicious!) and she even got up at 4:30 in the morning to prepare us breakfast because we wanted to see the sunrise. You will immediately feel at home there and the rooms are clean and big enough and you geg a very nice back yard and pick ups right at the house. I would defenetly recommend this place if you want to see the tatacoa desert.

Perfect ecological gem in the desert! Super friendly host, pool and cool beer in the desert, beautiful cabins with openair shower - and all this eco- and budget- friendly. Ask your tuktuk-driver that takes you to the hostel to stop at the desierto rojo (about 5km away from the hostel) for 1h so that you can take a walk through this stunning landscape (if you want you can ask him to guide you).

From the moment we arrived, Lucila and her family welcomed us with warmth and care that made us feel like we were part of their home. Their kindness and attentiveness are unmatched – they truly go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels special. The property itself is stunning. The rustic yet elegant design perfectly complements the natural beauty of the desert. The pools (yes, plural!) are an oasis of relaxation, and floating in the cool water while surrounded by endless desert landscapes is an experience I’ll never forget. This is the perfect spot to disconnect from the chaos of everyday life. No distractions, just peace, tranquility, and the magic of the desert. The attention to detail, from the pristine cleanliness of the rooms to the thoughtful amenities, speaks volumes about the love and care Lucila and her family pour into this place. If you’re looking for a unique, soul-soothing getaway with a touch of magic, Estrella Casa del Angel is it. Gloria and her family were the most welcoming people we met at Colombia. The place is extremely clean and comfortable, exceeding all expectations. Shower is great, a fan is enough to sleep in a cozy blanket, Gloria and Hormer will help you with anything you need to visit the desert, but by far the most amazing thing we did was to know the amazing work they are doing in their "Finca"to restore the vegetation and bring back the native animals.

The family cooked us a great breakfast and dinner (I'm sure you could have lunch if you wanted it) everyday for a reasonable price. Beautiful hostel with lovely, clean facilities. Perfect for an escape to surreal surroundings, away from people. 1hr walk to the grey desert, would recommend. We walked to the grey desert (there's a little bar about half way) then spent the day there in the natural swimming pool. Our hostel organised horse riding from the hostel, a visit to the astronomy auditorium at night and a tuk-tuk to take us to the red desert and then back down to the village.

This is by far one of the best customer service I’ve received in all the hostels I’ve done through South America. The owners care so much about our experience and make sure we get all the help we need. They assisted us with our tours, they were more than comprehensive with our super late check-in and little issues and they created an absolutely lovely atmosphere. The place is beautiful. Truly an oasis. Colorful, full of plants and very private. The accomodation was clean, the bathroom was so nice and it felt very comfortable and intimate. I highly recommend the place. You can walk to everywhere in the village and the dogs there are the sweetest. Thanks again!
