the staff! we had booked rooms with shared bathrooms, but they were getting refurbished so we were kindly upgraded for free to 3 private rooms! it’s right on the river which is great for a refreshing dip to cool down as it gets quite hot in the day. dinner is 50Q - affordable and delicious. great location in close proximity to Semuc Champey’s cave and pools. we booked a shuttle and tour from the hostel which was easy and hassle free. such cute puppies here as well

Amazing hostel! The dorm was nice and cosy in a treehouse setup and the beds were still so comfy.
The hostel was very clean, especially the bathrooms, the staff were super friendly and the location is a 40 min walk from Semuc Champey, so easy to walk or take a tuktuk if you prefer.
The restaurant food is decent and not expensive, around 40-50q for a meal.
They also had extremely cute dogs :)

Vista Verde Longue offers a fantastic location and tranquility for travelers, making it an appealing choice. If you look for cheaper option than the Zephyr, this is it. Although we had some problems with the room, the management was friendly at the end.

Location is amazing right next to the river. The room was very spacious and comfy. They organize one day tours to semuc with caves and tubing, it was a good deal.

Location next to the river. Friendly staff. Tranquil pretty garden. Bathrooms very clean. We were moved to a better room.

Casa Mary is ideal for visiting Semuc Champey. They pick you up from the shuttle in their TukTuk which is ideal after a long day on the bus. David her son offers tours, which we did and it was brilliant. The restaurant on site offers cheap lovely food served by Olga and her team.
Yes the walls are very thin but if you have earplugs you won’t hear a thing. The rooms are clean and Casa Mary offers excellent value for money. BOOK IT…
