The Hostel Stories in Varkala is an incredibly friendly place to stay if you're visiting Varkala. I’ve been there for three weeks, and from the very first day, I felt at home—even though it was my first time in India! The hostel has a beautiful garden with hammocks, chairs, and fruit trees, always filled with good vibes and friendly people to chat with. The atmosphere is both calm and welcoming, making it easy to connect with other travelers while also having space to relax on your own. If you're traveling solo, I promise you won’t feel lonely! There’s also a lovely terrace where you can practice yoga early in the morning, hang your clothes to dry, or simply lie back and watch the stars at night. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the hostel is just a short walk from the South Cliff, where you’ll find the amazong ocean, cafés, restaurants, and all the shops you might need. A huge thank you to Pintu and all the staff at the hostel—you made my stay unforgettable!

The wellcoming from Sajeev and Vijayan was fantastic. We had access to all of the amenities in the house and they provided us with great advice to really enjoy our stay in Varkala. Sharing breakfast with them was great time to talk and learn a bit more about the place and ways to reach our next destination. The level of service was outstanding and they really cared for us during our stay in Madhav Mansion. We would highly recommend it! I had a truly wonderful stay at this brand-new hostel. The entire space is thoughtfully designed, especially for those interested in "workation" or yoga practice. The comfort level is top-notch; the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the washroom facilities were impeccably neat and clean. They’ve ensured maximum privacy and convenience with essentials like curtains, a reading light, and a charging socket available at every single bed. The location is a perfect balance. It’s set in a wonderfully peaceful location, just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the main cliff to ensure quiet contemplation, but still perfectly accessible. A grocery store, scooty rental, and a local cafe are all just 100 meters away. The small communal kitchen is a huge plus for cooking basic meals, and the free water refilling station shows they care about sustainability. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this hostel to anyone seeking a tranquil base for remote work or a place to deepen their yoga practice. I definitely plan to return soon! A special thank you to the host, Pintu, for the warm hospitality.

We loved the idealism and the caring ethos of Jambavan with its emphasis on the environment, art and welcoming guests. The room and shared facilities were all spotless, cool and comfortable. There is a large roof terrace where you're surrounded by the tree canopy and a balcony off the living room which is shady and breezy. The hosts Avneeth and Anvena are incredibly kind and friendly and speak perfect English. We enjoyed making friends with their family of cats 🐈‍⬛ It was fun having art materials in our room to encourage some sketching.

Excellent location, quiet yet 2 minutes walk to the cliff cafés, shops and restaurants. Very clean rooms with large comfy bed and spotless linen. The outside balcony to the room is a nice place to relax. The staff are friendly and the manager Suresh can make any arrangement you might need.
