We have never experienced this kind of luxury in our lives….. this place and environment totally blew our minds! We had te luxury to stay in the villa, and exceeded all our expectations. The views, the pool, the sauna, the hotspring tub, the fireplace, the BBQ… it was more than enough to really end our holiday totally relaxed! We were supposed to go to Tokyo the last 3 days of our holiday, but we where glad that we canceled that, and went to Shikuoka instead! The falls and wasabi fields and hikes nearby were great excursions, and then come back to the villa was a real dream! Also there were no other guests, so we had the whole place for ourselves…. The hotel is located at the coast in front of a tiny island. Our first room had the most spectacular view of the coastline, also thanks to its huge glass windows. While we thought it couldn’t get better, we even got an upgrade to one of the rooms boasting a private hot bath on a terrace, also with the most stunning view along the small island in front of the hotel and the coastline. The rooms themselves are marvelous and the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Also, the hotels Spa facilities are well made and very relaxing. The general area around Shimoda has some of the nicest beaches we’ve seen so far and is perfect for surfers (or those who want to learn surfing).
