We had a fantastic stay at Arcadia Villas in Arugam Bay! The room for four was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed — perfect for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The beds were super comfy, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and everything was well-maintained and spotless. The location is ideal: close enough to the beach and main spots in Arugam Bay, yet tucked away in a peaceful, quiet area surrounded by nature. It felt like a perfect little retreat after a day of surfing or exploring the area. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always available when we needed anything and happy to offer local tips. You can really tell that the place is run with care and attention to detail. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Arcadia Villas to anyone looking for a great stay in Arugam Bay!

Everything! The atmosphere, the staff, the cabana and the food. The place is just lovely and the views are breathtaking. I am definitely coming back next time I am in Sri Lanka. Wish I could have stayed longer. This was the best out of all the places I stayed during my travels around the country. They just do everything a little better than others.

Amazing stay with an amazing host! The room is exactly like the photos and incredible clean. Hammock is perfect for lounging on during the hot days! Mohammed was very sweet throughout the stay and brought us delicious home baked treats every morning! Accommodation is in perfect location and very close to the beach!

The location was great. If you don't want to stay in crowded Arugambay this is the right place for you. You have your own pirvate beach, a little cabana, good food at the restaurant and it is the cleanest hotel we have been in Sri Lanka.

What an amazing place. Host is the most welcoming person I've ever met, such an amazing human being! We booked for 5 nights and we extended another 3 because we felt like home. Everyday were preparing breakfast (and everyday is different, delicious and abundant, also with homemade juices). We also had few dinners in and food was stunning! He also arranged a motorbike, safaris and taxi at very reasonable price! We have no words to express how kind and caring they were with us. The place is very handy, close to beach and all the restaurants, clean and well take care of, also very quiet! We highly, highly recommend it! No hesitation! Looking forward to come back to here!

I've stayed in a few places in Sri Lanka, but Oasis was the absolute best! As someone who works remotely and loves surfing, I needed a place that offered privacy for Zoom calls and a cool atmosphere to relax. The common area where they serve breakfast (you can also have lunch and dinner there) is perfect for meeting new people, chilling, or getting some writing done. The place is awesome, and Riz, the local guy who manages it, is a total legend. You'll definitely meet like-minded people who are either staying at Oasis or hanging out in the restaurant area. The Wi-Fi is the best you can get in Arugam Bay, but for calls, I recommend getting a Dialog sim card (better reception than Mobitel). I had full 4G reception in the rooms and had no problems with conference calls with 8+ people. Each room has a table and chair, perfect for working, and the A/C is great. You can even work from your balcony. The breakfast is totally worth it, especially the smoothie bowls. The cappuccino and espresso are also good and included in the breakfast package! If you need any advice on what to do or how to get around, just ask Riz. He's a really cool and knowledgeable guy who speaks excellent English. I highly recommend staying at Oasis. I spent over a week there and made friends for life. And if you're a surfer, don't miss the "The Wedge" wave (5-minute walk) or Main Point (15-20 minute walk) in the bay. You can also grab a tuktuk for around $1 to other surf spots around Arugam Bay.

Spacious, comfortable, very clean rooms with fridge and safe, good airco, nice bathroom and terrace. Very well situated, just out off the busy centre, quiet and still only a few minutes walk to several good restaurants. Varied and tastefull choice for breakfast, good lunch and dinner on demand. But best of all is the kind and welcoming host Basheer who does everything to ensure you have a pleasant stay! He speaks very good English and can arrange different activities. He arranged surf classes for our teenage sons with experienced teachers at a good price who took them to the best surfing spots, lagoon safari, in-house cooking class and transport to our next destination. And the gentile tuktuk-driver Haroun was always there to take us where we needed! Thanks Basheer and Haroun for the nice time in Arugam Bay!

The kindness of the owner and the place was crazy good. One of the Best hotels in sri lanka probably. The owner helped with everything. I did a Safari in the early morning and he wake me up, organized some breakfast and was so friendly. Fantastic prices too. Owner is one of the good ones in this world. I love the name of the hotel too. :)

    It was great stay at star rest beach hotel .the hos (Owner) Abdullah was a superb guy .he is professional surfing trainer. He took me to peanut parm and crocodile rock. When I lost my way he quickly came and pick me up from the beach. The hotel location was great because very quiet place and helpful staff. The hotel itself had a place to eat and make your own food. The room was very clean and WiFi was excellent.

    The female dorm was spacious and very clean. The beds were comfy. Location was great! And the pool and garden is very beautiful. It is very calm at night which was prefect for me. If you look for a more communicative hostel where you can meet other travellers I would advise another one though.

    Quiet location just off the main road so could get a peaceful nights sleep, but a 2 minute walk to the bars shops and restaurants and beach. Super friendly helpful staff! Room extremely comfortable and spotless.

    I had a fantastic stay at Sea La Vie! The hosts, Dilan and Daria, are very welcoming and give great recommendations. The location is great too, it's super close to the main road and the beach. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Also, the breakfast is super tasty (especially the pancakes). I highly recommend staying there! :)

    We had a wonderful stay at Hakuna Matata. Billy and his family were so welcoming, and the Sri Lankan breakfasts cooked by Billy’s mother were delicious. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, with a lovely front patio/balcony area too, and lots of hammocks and sitting spots throughout the property. Location is ideal - one minute from the beach, and one minute to the main road in town. Thank you!
