We stayed one night at the Backyard Balangoda in the middle of tea plantations. We had our own cabin which was very cozy, clean and modernly equipped. We watched the sunrise on the cabin’s balcony offering a marvellous view over the mountains and tea estates. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and really tasty. The service was just oustanding. The owner is an amazing person and really helpful. We really loved staying at this place and can only recommend visiting when being in Sri Lanka. Big thumps up!

The location was peaceful and serene, providing the perfect escape. The staff were exceptionally attentive, with impeccable attention to detail. This hotel is simply amazing. It's surrounded by rice fields, mountains, and even has a small waterfall flowing right through the resort – the whole place is stunning and full of peaceful energy. We had a room right by the pool and the mini waterfall. Normally, my husband and I find it hard to really relax, but here we could truly unwind – lying in the hammock, floating in the pool, or just enjoying the view from the lounge. The hotel team was incredibly friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond. They took us on a Jeep tour to explore the area and even arranged a private car with a driver for our onward journey. The food was absolutely delicious – we especially recommend the Sri Lankan breakfast! A place to relax, recharge, and enjoy nature. Highly recommended!

A truely unforgettable experience with Dulara and the team at Ahaspokuna. It’s difficult to pinpoint one thing that stood out as everything was exceptional. The food, the hospitality, the room, the environment, you will not regret staying here! Hope to be back one day. If you’ve read about the leaches, don’t bother worrying, they’re tiny and a non-event.
