Cheap hotels in Hambegamuwa

My partner and I stayed two nights in Glimra Eco lodge and this was a true pleasure. Roshani and her husband are such amazing hosts and so helpful, it couldn’t be any better. They did everything to make our stay memorable. From cooking delicious meals, to arranging a safari for us in Udawalawe, which is cheaper compared to the usual prices. Roshani also took us to a place nearby to see the beautiful sunset from up above a hill. The views from the ecolodge are amazing. One morning we could even see an elephant having a bath on the other side of the lake!

We loved everything about Nature House. The staff were incredibly friendly and service-oriented. The rooms and general facilities were spotless. The location was ideal and the food delicious. It was quiet and we enjoyed seeing sunbirds, leafbirds, koels, tailorbirds, and many more bird species while eating meals. And with all this the price was very reasonable. Their safari service to Udawaldawe was excellent with a driver who had a great eye for birds and natural history and good knowledge.

well kept place with all the amenities you need. The owners are hands-on and made our stay comfortable in every way. And the surrounding was brilliant.

We loved our stay at Rustic Cottages. This accommodation has only been established a short time yet is run so professionally. Communication was outstanding from the outset. They organised our safari tour which was excellent. We saw so much wildlife. The cottages are beautifully appointed and set in a lovely tropical garden. Aircon and hot water were plentiful. The bed was very comfortable and top notch linens. There were thoughtful touches like international adapters. The breakfasts were a treat. We opted for the traditional Sri Lankan breakfasts and they were delicious. We also chose to eat our dinners at Rustic Cottages and were pleased we did. Some of the best food we’ve eaten. There was parking for our tuktuk. This is a great accommodation and I highly recommend it. Sandeep is the consummate host and we are really pleased to have experienced such wonderful hospitality.

Leels safari cottage, a pocket of paradise. we spontaneously booked our stay here for 2 nights in hopes to do a safari. We’ve been travelling Sri Lanka for over a month now and I can say this has been the nicest place we have stayed at. The pictures are exactly like the place which we were so pleased about, the room its self is beautiful, comfortable beds, beautiful layout and decoration with the blessing of air con and a fan. They also supply mosquito nets, this was the first place we weren’t bitten once! As for the bathroom it’s wonderful, full of plants with an rainforest vibe. It’s all so clean and well stocked with a kettle, wardrobe, shelf’s and great mirrors. The attention to detail is amazing you can tell a lot of love and hard work has been put into this place. The lighting is lovely giving it a cosy feel. We had breakfast included and added on dinner for both nights as the food was too good! Cooked by the loveliest ladies who do everything they can to make sure you’re happy. So much selection for both breakfast and dinner really yummy and enjoyable. It’s the perfect place to relax but also seek adventure. We woke up early one morning to go for a run, the area is lovely everybody smiles and says hello. and the views are really beautiful with thriving nature. We went to an elephant orphanage near by, luckily they know people for transport etc and Leel suggested this activity for us, we didn’t know about this place prior our visit! But so glad we went it was amazing! Our second day was Safari day, we were delighted that Leel himself is one of the greatest safari tour drivers, so we set off early in the morning and embarked on our safari around Udawalawe. I know it will be one of my favourite memories we are really grateful for Leel and his dedication to make sure we had the best time and see as many beautiful animals as possible! As we really wanted to see wild elephants, we made a stop in Udawalawe, but spotting them wasn't our biggest suprise here. We stayed at the Amba Kola hotel and this was just the most wonderful experience. The kindest owners truely, the nicest room, a brand new and well kept pool, the most delicious food from the entire trip, and playful dogs amongst which the two most adorable puppies  🐶 As mentionned, the food was incredible and we had the chance to take part in the preparation by doing the cooking class with the owner. Something you should really try after a morning safari.  Janik is also so kind, ready to help you with anything, answer any question. He will make everything in his power to make you feel like the most valuable guest on the planet. If you are passing by, really we can't recommend it enough 😍 (we thought the 10 on booking was impossible. Well we thought wrong)

This place is really exceptional 🌟 Room is very spacious and comfortable. Dinner on the terrace and breakfast exceeded any expectations ❤️ Delicious food, traditional cutlery made of natural materials and excellent service 👍 Dimu also arranged a safari for us with a very kind driver. Definitively recommend this place ☺️
