We stayed as a couple for 11 days in this beautiful cottage 1 minute from the beach. It is so quiet and you can relax and retreat very well. There is also a whale skeleton and several beaches are within walking distance. It is also a kitesurfing paradise and there are many donkeys here. You can easily cater for yourself, but there are also several restaurants nearby. The owners are next door and are happy to help at every opportunity. We would come back any time. :-)

Accommodation situated on the outskirts of the coconut village amidst the agro fields. 3.5km to the empty beach, 35 min walk, 16 min run, 10 min by bike through the local houses and fields. Very quiet agro area. Good for discovering a way of local's life. Anuska, the host, he arranged for us the snorkeling trip to Bar reef for very reasonabld price. Excellent communication with the host. A gentleman in the charge of the property and the kitchen was very helpful. A great and rich organic food served during the breakfast and dinner. The nearest bus stop in 10 min walking distance from the accommodation. Thr rooms are ample and very nice. Very neat bathroom. Highly recommended provided this sort of experience is the one you're up to.

An incredibly stylish and beautiful hotel. I was looking for a calm place and this was a perfect match. However, you can socialize if you want. Jessie, the manager, is doing his job with a strong sense of responsibility, Ansalees and other employees are highly professional and kind. Hotel boat can take you to the beach. The place is very popular for kitesurfers and the beach was very windy during my stay, but you can relax perfectly at the hotel pool. The atmosphere there is idyllic. Food was really tasty.

Our stay in Luna laguna has been one of the biggest highlight of our trip in Sri Lanka. The hotel is near the lagoon in a very well maintained garden. The name of this hostel truly reflects the place—it is a paradise. It’s a pity this location isn’t more frequented because it’s a fantastic spot, surrounded by coconut palms and charming huts. The owner, Malik, is an excellent host who speaks perfect English and goes out of his way to make guests feel comfortable. Since there were only four of us staying, he generously offered each of us a private room for the same price as a dormitory bed. The beds are equipped with mosquito nets, and they also provide towels, which adds to the comfort of the stay. Breakfast is included, and they offer a restaurant service for lunch and dinner. Additionally, they can arrange various activities in the area. While recent storms have damaged some facilities and the access road—possibly explaining the lower number of visitors—the place remains well-maintained, clean, and conveniently close to both the beach and Kalpitiya Dutch Fort. Day and night, this place offers the perfect tranquility to disconnect from the world and relax. The restaurant terrace has board games, books, and even a lovely cat to keep you company. I highly recommend this hostel—it’s affordable, well-managed, and offers excellent service.
