That is a nice cozy place surrounded by banana trees, very calm, we slept well! The room was very clean with air conditioner, fridge and white bed linen. Excellent bathroom with good hot water pressure that is not common for Shri-Lanka. Service was brilliant, special thanks to manager Andrew who was very attentive and solved all our questions for example when we needed additional adapter he found it immediately. The tasty hearty breakfast was included into the price as well as visiting a swimming pool in the hotel nearby. The great bonus was that you could also watch the elephants’ bathing in the river. A couple who cared for the facilities prepared the most tasty rice and curry we tried in Shri-Lanka and treated us with bananas from their garden. We enjoyed our staying in this place very much! I highly recommend this place if you are going to visit Pinnawala!

Well I don’t know where to start. I could write a book about this place. We were in love from the minute we checked in, the family made us feel so welcome. Our room was huge lovely quirky little pond in the room with a few fish. The bathroom was really really stunning made out of all recycled rocks and the room was immaculately clean. Little pool to cool down at the end of the day, amazing breakfast. We had a cooking class which was offered by Gayashan and we also had a barbecue with the family which included music. This family quickly became a part of our family. They couldn’t do enough for us. I miss the children they are so lovely, also not forgetting Bruno, kitty and their cockerel. We booked Gayashan for the rest of our tour of Sri Lanka (15 days) and what an amazing guy he is. He’s friendly, he’s funny, he has an amazing sense of humour, he goes above and beyond to make your stay Just perfect. I cannot wait to come back. This is the first time to Sri Lanka and it will certainly not be the last. ❤️❤️❤️ I waited until I was back in the UK to do my review and let’s just say I miss you so much my brother from another mother. The bond between Gayashan and my husband will last a lifetime.

Our hosts were the absolute best. They invited us to their family new year celebrations and we were honored to join them. The food they prepared for us on both nights was delicious and adapted to our taste. They helped us with hiking trips and organized each activity we wanted to plan. The mud chalet was clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and we felt very much at ease.

Large clean room. Ac, Tv, hot water. Balcony where you could watch the elephants walk by on the way to the river to bathe. That was a great experience to watch the elephants a few feet from the Balcony and also a couple of minutes walk to watch them bathe.

    It’s difficult to find something good, I’ll be honest. The elephants were great to see but this had nothing to do with the property, just the location. A fantastic experience but I’d advise anyone to stay at another hotel. It wasn’t even like this was the cheapest place either.

    Location is very convenient to visit the Elephant orphanage & zoo. They have a hotel downstairs. Can take food from there. There are lots of closerby places for food as well. Room is good. Spacious, Clean with basic amenities & hot water & AC. Enough parking space front. Prices are reasonable. Ideal for a night stay during Pinnawala visit

    The room was quite spacious, very clean and well equiped. Also the bathroom looks pretty new. You can enjoy some fresh air at the balcony. The location is perfect and just across Elephant Orphenage.

    Really really good. I have no words to describe just wow. Everything good. Affordable price .Room cleaning, room comfortable, bathroom clean ,balcony,A/C , TV ,food & service everything good no words …. Staff so respectful and friendly. Location 100% safe and front of elephant orphanage . Parking place . We are come again … thanks a lot guys ❤️🫂🙏🙏🙏

    How this hotel is so cheap is a mystery. Fantastic location, great staff, lovely welcome. The manager is a lovely guy. Very helpful Shower and bathroom were brilliant, bed very comfortable and the reason they won't check you in before 4pm is because the elephants are walking down to the pool so the people that review complaining this are ridiculous. The hotel cannot stop the elephants can they 🤣🤣!! Really fantastic stay. Brilliant hotel and could definitely charge double the price. DO NOT MISS THIS HOTEL

    Everything was just outstanding, it was beyond our expectations. very good location (with a panoramic view of the elephant in the river) dinner and breakfast were so tasty. the price is exteremely cheap comparing to the service provided. very kind staff members, especially Mohammed who was very friendly and ready to help for every single thing you ask for.
