The Strand hotel in Schmerikon is situated in a fantastic location directly on Lake Zurich.

The accommodation has its own small beach, which is reserved for hotel guests only. All rooms have a view of the lake. The location on the lake is breathtaking, and the atmosphere is calm and lovely. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, the rooms were clean and beautiful an comfortable. Some of us used the sauna in the garden and alternated between it and the lake, and absolutely loved it. Dinner in the restaurant was excelent. Breakfast was everything it should be. We loved the place, and definitely be back when possible.

I walked from the train station (it is a long walk if you are not used it or if you have luggage) to the apartment. It was a very nice uphill walk with great views and nice cafés around. Steph also was in touch during my stay and it was always available to answer questions. Check out was smooth, all easy. The apartment is a 5 Star apartment, completely clean with all that you need for your stay. An ALDI is 1 minute away from the apartment and that is a very good thing to know! Overall it was a fantastic choice.
