Everything. The owners of the place were amazing and were even waiting outside for me, so I knew which hostel it was after a long journey. They helped me plan a tour to the desert, and the location was walking distance from the square.

Quiet location, walkable from ferry (15 minutes), terrace for socialising and drying clothes, fan in dorm, friendly staff, indoor pool. Small lockers available (bring your own padlock).

The huts are in the grey desert and you can walk to the mineral pool a d other key sites here. But you will need a car or a taxi to get here, it's super remote. Food is quite cheap around 15,000cop per meal.

Very relaxing setting with friendly and welcoming owners. The room was simple but comfortable and somehow more equipped than other basic options (e.g. bedside tables, chairs, mirrors). Nicely decorated chilling area with comfy hammocks and rocking chairs. Free coffee. Great location at about 20 min walk from Sendero Cuzco and 1 h walk from Sendero Los Hoyos.

The room was very clean. The staff, Esperanza and her colleague, were very accommodating. They prepared us a nice salad for breakfast as we are vegan. They offered us ice cubes so we could drink cold water. They even apologized for the noise caused by somebody's late check-in. The swimming pool is a plus in Villavieja's hot weather. They offer good value tours (with or without guide) to the Desierto de Tatacoa. The restaurant they recommended (Sal si puedes) was very good.

The location is convenient. The red desert is in walking distance. The food was tasty and the prices very reasonable. The staff was very helpful and kind. They also offer transportation from and to Neiva for a very good price. There is not WIFI but there is 4G signal, not very strong but OK. The room was clean and had all the basics. Big BONUS: they offer free coffee (tinto) all day.
