This is the perfect place to stay if you want to get to know the real Sal and its people. The owners went above and beyond to make me feel not only welcome, but truly at home. The room was super comfy, and the food was always delicious (be sure to try one of Candida's secret recipes for dinner, if you get the chance). I was provided with all the help and advice I needed in order to explore the island, and Candida and Martin personally took me to places that only local people know about. If, like me, you prefer a quiet, remote beach over those crowed, touristy ones: there's a small one just a short bicycle ride away – although I usually opted for a walk through to beautiful steppe landscape to get there. If you prefer spending your days with the other tourists down in the south of the island: Santa Maria beach is only 20 minutes by bus – which may sound complicated at first, but is actually super fun and convenient (and it only costs 1 Euro). I could go on praising this place for two weeks (which is actually the amount of time I stayed), but I'll just stop here – not without saying: Thank you, Candida & Martin, for the wonderful time at kleine schweiz! We had an amazing experience at Bia D’Olaf on Sal Island. The apartment was spotless, modern, and very comfortable — everything looked new and perfectly maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always with a smile and ready to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The location couldn’t be better — just a short walk from the beach and the main areas of Santa Maria, yet peaceful and relaxing. A special bonus is the wonderful bakery and café downstairs, owned by the same family. Their pastries, coffee, and breakfasts are simply delicious — the perfect way to start the day! Everything was truly five stars — cleanliness, comfort, hospitality, and the little details that make a big difference. We will definitely come back and recommend Bia D’Olaf to anyone visiting Sal Island!

I go to Sal sometimes and it's one of the best if not the best place i stayed in Espargos! Clean and comfortable space. Quiet place and you have lots of restaurants, bars, etc around the area...you can go by walking and it's near! Really good host as well!

Always someone at the reception, the girls are incredibly kind, good breakfast also for vegetarians, very central ( 1 min away of Calema pub) and few minutes from the beach. In the last day (now) they prepared the breakfast early and fast just as we have the time to eat before our flight ( and we didnt even asked for).

I chose this hotel for my last night in Cape Verde as was doing a sailing holiday and needed a night before my flight home the next day. The previous hotel was awful (mozzies) and in the middle of nowhere. so I booked the mirabella and it was fantastic. They new I would be early and they had my room ready for like 11am which was amazing. Simone was the perfect host very welcoming happy woman. The room the facilities the breakfast was spot on. Roof top area to chill and eat. Smack bang in the centre 2 minutes from the beach. If I ever go back to Cape Verde I will stop here.

Close to the airport and convinient if you need to wait for the plane or you landed in the middel of the night and are waiting for the next flight or the ferry. You can easily catch the taxi from the street nearby to the SID Airport for 5 EUR (500 Escudos) or to the Palmeira port for 7 EUR (700 Escudos) - as of 11.2025.
