Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt. Die Unterkunft ist sehr gemütlich und hatte alle Annehmlichkeiten. Man konnte gut entspannen und die Lage war sehr zentral, um sich Kumamoto gut ansehen zu können. Wir haben uns beim Checkout aufgrund einer Verzögerung leider verspätet, das war aber gar kein Problem und das Personal war super nett und hilfsbereit. Vielen Dank und von uns eine klare Empfehlung!

I felt right at home and the entire building is sitting in this very cute location. The owner had 2 cats which roam around the property. It was great to see them. The hosts were also very attentive and friendly. I had a great time speaking to them in Japanese, but they seem to manage really well with people don't speak Japanese. The best thing for sure was that they totally saved me twice! I didn't realize how rural this place was when I booked it. On the map, it looked more accessible on foot and it was only when I was heading to Aso that I would be in trouble because of my luggage. The host offered to pick me up from Akamizu and the even to take me back to get dinner/use the onsen. Later, they also offered to drive me to Tateno station for my departure train. This saved me so much stress. I couldn't walked with my luggage, but it would have been miserable. Overall, I had a really wonderful time staying here. Felt very peaceful and I was able to relax, especially after my long hike on Mt. Aso.

We chose Kikuchi instead of Kumamoto, to get away from the city before our trip to Mt Aso. We got a lovely country house, but the main benefit was the lovely couple who hosted us. Super friendly and helpful. I enjoyed breakfast, my wife skipped hers, so the host packed it as a bento box for our lunch. Vegetables from the garden. A guided visit to the forest to see fireflies. Tastes of local food and drink. It was if we were lodging with my favourite aunt and uncle.

A wonderful host and home. We stayed in a room that accommodated 4 people in Japanese styled bedrooms. A traditional home, it was a beautiful experience. The hostess was so helpful, accommodating and warm. She helped ensure we had the best stay and got to know the local restaurants and shops. Would stay here again!

Das Frühstück wurde vegan für uns angeboten was uns sehr gefreut hat. Der Gastgeber Hideki ist super sympathisch und hilfsbereit und hat uns seine liebsten Orte nicht nur auf der Karte gezeigt sondern hat uns mehrmals mitgenommen wenn etwas auf dem Weg für seine Erledigungen lag. Zudem spricht er gutes Englisch und hat zwei sehr liebe und verschmuste Kater.

Easy 10 min walk from Uchinomaki station, so accessible also without a car (just watch the train schedule since trains are only once per hour or so). This is just one train stop from Aso station, so provides easy access to Mt. Aso and the surrounding area. The kitchen is fully equipped (cutlery, pans, condiments, etc) and there is a small grocery store nearby to buy ingredients. Rooms are large, and there is a kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a japanese - style bathroom. The piano in the living room was a great and unexpected bonus. We were passing through and only stayed one night, but it would have been a great base to explore the Aso area and we would have loved to stay for longer.

The best accommodation for our trip in Japan. The house is very beautiful, well renovated with very good taste.Three toilets but only one bathroom.The owner and the staff are very kind and full of service mind. We have barbecue with karaoke , singing and dancing with the best audio equipment..The owner well prepared everything for our group including the heater on the floor. We all very appreciated for the hospitality, will come back again.
