The staff also helped me to arrange a trip to Lake Turkana upon my arrival, which was fantastic. The hotel connected me to a taximan and guide named Elijah, who took me to Kalokol, where, with Elijah's help, I hired a boat to go to a fishing village called Longech. I walked along the beach and through the village and saw how the locals process fish. I had fun interacting with kids, who were happy to see a mzungu. Elijah also took me around Lodwar town to look for Turkana crafts and to the giant cross at the Catholic shrine near the airport, which I'd recommend. I was impressed with the hotel and the trip they helped to arrange, and I hope to return to Quanum Woods again soon.
