The accommodation arranged a Safari in Yala for us, they arranged a nice Jeep for just the two of us ( I said we could take a shared one, but they can't arrange that - or probably don't want to). Anyway, it was nice not to worry about anything, they even packed us a breakfast to take with us on the Safari as it starts at 4:30am so you are the first in the park and have the best chance of seeing the Leopard. Words cannot really express how kind and accommodating Nalin and his family were. They did so much beyond expectations to make our stay perfect. We had to stay an extra day due to sickness and from getting medication from the pharmacy, arranging everything we needed no matter what and just generally being very interesting and keen to learn about other cultures in a completely comfortable and non intrusive manner it was superb. Been to Sri Lanka many times and mat so many kind Sri Lankans but Nalin clearly stands out. The rooms were spotless, no smell of damp (which can happen due to humidity in some places), we had the room of AC which was lovely, but a family member had a non ac room which was comfortable with the fans provided. Food was superb and they will arrange ahead of any dietary requirements. It was an honour to stay there and have the please of such good hospitality. I can see why this is 10/10 and 5* on Google! Also ask ahead about Safari and what animals you want to see and the type of trip you want because Yalla can be quite hectic and Nalin will help a lot. We arranged a tour beforehand which was good but it would have been better to have had some local knowledge prior to this as the Safari was quite hectic.

The location is so beautifully isolated and you have a real sense of being in nature … the stars at night were incredible. The team at Wild Hut were fantastic: understated unobtrusive exceptionally attentive.. Isuru was a wonder : full of knowledge about the environment and taught us the importance of “ knowing what you’re looking for “ when spotting wild life in the park. We felt safe and looked out forat all times whilst also feeling free to explore this incredible place for ourselves. Sunset on the rock playing cards drinking tea and listening to the wildlife will be a cherished memory forever . Thankyiu Yala Wild Hut and especially Isuru the lucky for a truly magical stay J🙏🏽 the food was great especially the lunchtime curry and the bbq too , and communication pre and during stay was excellent, and very helpful with arranging transport .

If you want some peace and a chill time before go to the crowder places in Sri Lanka I think is a right place. The owner was super kind and he helped us with everything You can also book a safari tour with the hostel. It was a fair price and the entrance of the N. Park you have there is much less crowdy than the most famous one. We could see many different animals, and our guide Weli was also very nice guy. He speaks good english and after the safari we shared a beer and a very nice talk. If you want visit a local village... Very recomended place!!! 10/10
