There are tens of desert camps in the Bidiyah area, but this one is among those with the best location. It is a bit further away from the town compared to most of the others, it is quite a distance away from the other camps, and is located on the higher ground, offering spectacular views and easy access to the dunes. The tents are spacious and cozy. The beds were the most comfortable of all I slept in while in Oman. Considering that the camp is in the desert, everything was unbelievably clean. All staff members were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast and the dinner were tasty, varied and plentiful. Drinking water was provided throughout the day.

Die Unterkunft Authentic Desert Camp - Al Wasil mit Bergblick in Al Wāşil bietet Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten mit einer Gemeinschaftslounge, einer Terrasse, einem Restaurant und einer Bar. Das Camp war mit seinen wenigen Zelten sehr gemütlich und authentisch. Man fühlte sich wirklich schön alleine in der Wüste. Es war mit Liebe hergerichtet. Das Essen wurde sehr lecker zubereitet und die Camp-Inhaber gaben sich für die Gäste eine Grosse Mühe. Man merkte, dass sie es mit Leidenschaft betreiben. Es gab auch Optionen, mit Dromedaren zu reiten oder durch die Dünen zu fahren. Die Gespräche mit Said (dem Campinhaber) waren ebenfalls sehr wertvoll! Es war wirklich eine sehr schöne Erfahrung und wir würden sofort wiederkommen. Erst dachten wir, dass 2 Nächte vielleicht zu lang sind, aber nächstes Mal würden wir auf jeden Fall für 2 Nächte kommen, denn unter tags kann man trotzdem Ausflüge ausserhalb der Wüste machen. :)

My wife and I began to consider our options as we followed a stranger in a foreign country into the empty desert to stay at a camp we weren’t sure truly existed. Sure, Oman has ridiculously low crime rate, but the possibilities of what awaited us were endless. After a 20 minute drive through bedouin camps and an empty sea of sand we were relieved to find the camp as pictured on the site. However, shortly after setting up for bed, the camp was hit by a storm which was extremely rare to the area. I stood there for 30 minutes holding the pole of the tent from inside, so it didn’t collapse on us, as the rain and wind pattered the canvas. If I could go back in time to the moment we started our journey… I would do it a million times over. Thousand Stars is a passion project started by Ali and his companion, and cared for by a truly honorable and wonderful caretaker - Sadam. It is not a 5 star resort run by a board of trustees with millions of investment dollars. It is 3 men, who put their blood sweat and tears into each and every night. We started the evening off by having tea, coffee and fruits with Ali and discussing life. Shortly after, Ali ensured we were comfortable and left us to be. We were the only couple there that night so we had the whole camp to ourselves. There are usually 2-3 tents available per night. My wife and I spent some time chatting under the moonlight, but called it early as we saw a storm approaching. Sadam was working hard to cover the dining tent with a tarp so that we could be comfortable while eating dinner. The storm came, and yes, there was a short bit of time where I had to hold the tent up but this was no fault of the camp - just nature. Despite the storm, Sadam trekked over to our tent from his to make sure we were ok. Right after the storm ended I heard the roar of a car. It was Ali again, who drove all the way back just to make sure everything was ok.

Staying at Desert Diamond Private camp was one of the best experiences I had in Oman. The camp is private and peaceful, and the hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. The food was delicious and varied — I especially enjoyed the camel meat at dinner. Breakfast on the soft desert sand was unforgettable. The room and bathroom were both beautifully decorated and very clean. The stargazing trip was a magical experience that added a special touch to the stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic and memorable desert escape.

Diese Zelt-Lodge bietet einen kostenlosen Privatparkplatz und eine Gemeinschaftsküche.... Everything is perfect!! The tent is very spacious and clean! The whole camp site is far from other camps so we can enjoy star gazing without any light disturbance. The dinner and breakfast are both very delicious, we do not expect such high quality food in the middle of the desert, they even taste better than those we had in Muscat! Most importantly, the owner Rashid is super friendly, we totally feel the hospitality of Omani people!! We highly recommend you to choose this camp if you can coming to Bidiyah!!

Die in Al Raka gelegene Unterkunft Arab desert camp bietet einen Sitzbereich. Ein voll ausgestattetes eigenes Badezimmer mit einem Bidet und kostenlosen Pflegeprodukten ist vorhanden. Lage aussergewöhnlich schön. Mitarbeiter ebenfalls aussergewöhnlich hilfsbereit und freundlich. Kleines persönliches Camp, sehr einfach, was aber genau den Reiz ausmacht. Sehr gute Betten. Auch das Essen war prima.
