What's there not to like? The room or the tent, while it's basic, it's self sufficient bug free with an ensuite shower and toilet. The grounds around the camp is spacious and a true immersion in mother nature. The food is authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. The 4 dogs are therapeutic to stroke. The safari tour was guided by Sudesh who has eagle's vision for spotting wild life from miles away. He'd helped us to spot snake, monitor lizard, all kinds of birds, crocodiles and definitely a leopard resting on a tree 20m away.

We had an unforgettable two-night stay at Yala Wild House, and I can't recommend it enough! The accommodation is perfectly nestled in the heart of nature, offering an immersive jungle experience. The wildlife here is abundant, with vibrant birds all around and the stunning starry skies at night—a true paradise for nature lovers. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making for a peaceful retreat after a day of exploration. What really made our stay exceptional, though, was the owner. He is the most welcoming, kind-hearted person you'll ever meet, and his passion for Yala National Park shines through in everything he does. He went out of his way to make us feel at home, even helping us arrange a safari at a very reasonable price. The food was another highlight. The family serves up traditional Sri Lankan dishes that are both flavorful and satisfying. Every meal was a delight! If you're looking for a genuine, off-the-beaten-path experience in Yala, Yala Wild House is the place to stay. The combination of great hospitality, incredible surroundings, and delicious food makes it a truly special spot. Highly recommended!

This is a very well run camp close to Yala NP. We stayed in a family tent which was great with two tents joined together and plenty of space. Dinner is outside around a fire, which is very atmospheric. Nice small details with tasty afternoon tea and some activities such as basketball and badminton. Great place to stay, with excellent staff.

Amazing view and scenery. It’s the most unique place I’ve been to. The tents were comfortable and you shower under the stars! Its covered so that you have your privacy. The safari that they arranged was also good. The food was great and on one night they arranged a barbeque on the dune, under the stars! Just unforgettable and way better than staying in a standard hotel!

Lovely staff, beautiful property and the rooms are stunning. Very comfortable and homely in the rooms. We appreciated the staffs attentiveness and they really wanted us to enjoy our stay. They also organised a safari for us at Yala and the location of the villa is great for that!

Location location location- being based in Kataragama it’s away from the ‘normal herd’ of Yala safari locations.When out on safari, we met a small limited amount of safari trucks. Other cheaper companies based near the coast race up into the national park daily when the Yala park gates open leaving you eating dust from all other high speed vehicles and chasing wildlife away from all the human noises / vehicle seen . If this is your once a lifetime Yala safari, spend the money and do it properly. This company is also animal welfare minded Accomodation wise it’s like the photos. Luxurious tented accomodation Very spacious. Nice bed Beautiful pre dinner bon fire with a aperitif bar Stunning outdoor dinners - delicious food. Romantic setting with lanterns

Highly recommend this property. Was the best place we stayed on our trip to Sri Lanka. I would recommend dining in with the team, exceptional curry for dinner. Also use their safari recommendations as he was the best driver & first in line for morning safari.
