Jassim and his crew know hospitality and will make your private desert stay a wonderful experience. You may believe this to be a once in a lifetime experience, but my heart is set on returning to the desert, to Bidiyah, and to Oman. The camp is the furthest one in the desert so we were very far from the town of Bidiyah and it’s light pollution- far enough away to see the beautiful night sky be-speckled with stars. The tent is well designed and faces east to capture the most beautiful sunrise you’ll ever see over the desert sand dunes. No match for what you’ll see on Dune or Tatooine. There were just a few tents at this camp making for a very private setting, with just a few friendly neighbors. The base of the camp is where we had meals. They prepared great dishes (buffet), and had vegetarian options too. After dinner, we sat outside with the few people at the camp and had some tea and conversation. There’s also an indoor swimming pool and sometimes there’s a fire at night. The camp also boasts eco tourism using solar cells and limits the use of plastics. It was very quiet (except for the winds). There’s a fully functioning open air, private, outdoor bathroom attached to our tent where you can shower under the stars. Keep in mind that you’ll be covered in a thin layer of sand and sometimes it gets very windy so some eye protection would’ve come in handy. Lastly, I highly recommend meeting the crew at the meeting point in Bidiyah and having them drive on the desert sand. Jassim picked us up, had great communication, and simply the most hospitable and nicest person you’ll ever meet. He stopped so we could say hi to the camels, take a few photos, and had a few laughs.

As an added convenience, the campground offers packed lunches for guests to bring on excursions and other trips off-property. We had an amazing stay at Marbella Bungalows Desert Private Camp! The bungalows are very comfortable, beautifully designed, and modern. The mattress and sofa were incredibly cozy, making our stay even more enjoyable. The bathroom was fully functional, with a comfortable water temperature, allowing us to take a refreshing shower after a day in the desert. The food was absolutely delicious! Chef Mohammed puts his heart into every dish, and you can truly taste the passion in his cooking. Everything was incredibly tasty! A special thanks to the host, Abdullah. He is very friendly, always available, and ready to assist with anything you need. He even organized a small desert safari for us, which was an unforgettable experience!

At the campground, all units include bed linen and towels. We stayed one night in this absolutely amazing place. It’s about a 35-minute drive from the main road, and the journey to the camp is already an incredible experience. We stayed in a tent, which was super comfortable and for me, felt like pure luxury—having light, water, and other amenities in the middle of the desert. The tent is spacious, offering more than enough room for two people. It wasn't to cold in the tent at night (december). The area is beautifully set up with a cozy chill-out tent and a dining space. The staff, a group of young Bangladeshi mens, were incredibly helpful, friendly, and welcoming. They prepared a delicious dinner for us with grilled chicken, grilled camel meat, and several side dishes with rice—everything was absolutely flavorful. For breakfast, they cooked fresh Omani bread and a potato curry, which was tasty. In the evening, they organized a small campfire, which added a wonderful touch to the experience. The team does an excellent job and I hope they are well paid for their hard work! Additional activities like camel riding and more are available. This place is truly recommendable, and spending a night under the breathtaking desert stars is unforgettable.
