I had a fantastic stay at this accommodation hosted by Xiaomei. Xiaomei and her brother were incredibly nice and helpful throughout our visit. We had a tight schedule, and they went above and beyond in recommending the best ways to fit all of our plans. As an unexpected delight, Xiaomei taught us how to play Mahjong, and it was an absolute blast! The room we stayed in was wonderful, providing a cozy and comfortable space to relax after a long day of exploring. The breakfast served was not only delicious but also a perfect start to our mornings. Overall, our experience here was memorable, thanks to Xiaomei's hospitality and the exceptional quality of the accommodation. We can't wait to return!

The location is amazing. It is very remote, giving you a great sense of peace. The staff is amazing. Frankie went out of his way to make it comfortable for us. He had great advice on what to do in the region and helped us a lot. His English is also great. Yang Ma let us taste a lot of tea that she made herself. It was absolutely delicious and she also taught us new things! In the bar they have a karaoke setup and we sang to our hearts content with Yang Ma. The food is also superb and really comforting after walking in the park for a day. Sadly the weather wasn't great when we visited so we did not enjoy the infinity pool, but it looks amazing. We will defenitely return here if we come to Zhangjiajie again.

Our stay at Guanyunshan Homestay was an absolute highlight of our Zhangjiajie trip! Tucked just 300 meters from the South Gate of the National Forest Park, the location is unbeatable—we could reach the park entrance in a leisurely 5-minute stroll. Waking up to mist-shrouded quartzite peaks from our private balcony felt like living in a painting. The hosts went above and beyond: they prepared herbal foot baths after long hiking days, customized a vegetarian breakfast with local wild vegetable dumplings, and even arranged a private bilingual guide who revealed hidden viewpoints ahead of tourist crowds. The room seamlessly blended traditional Tusheng architecture with modern comforts (think heated floors and rainfall showers). What truly stood out was the proactive service—they contacted us pre-arrival to coordinate luggage storage and secured park tickets during peak season. If you seek authenticity over luxury, this family-run gem delivers soul-stirring moments you won’t find at chain hotels.

the room was lovely with a view and air conditioned and clean. the people running the hotel were very helpful to us as foreigners. they drove us to the Southgate entrance of Zhangjiajie national park which a 4 min drive and cooked us dinner for 40 yuan which was very helpful as the area is more quiet. this might be an option for you if they are available that night. there is also a restaurant across the road which was great! the hotel also offers a basic breakfast for free. Theres a busier area with fruit market stalls and more restaurants about a 20 min walk. the lady working there was very patient with us and helped us book all of our national park and day trip tickets (i would suggest doing this before you come to avoid missing out in busy seasons).

I had a wonderful stay in Zhangjiajie! The location was absolutely perfect, offering a clear and stunning view of Tianmen Mountain. The room itself was beautiful, well-appointed, and equipped with all the amenities you could need. The hosts were incredibly kind and generous, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area! The location was not only quiet and peaceful, overlooking a beautiful landscape, but also very convenient. It was just a short distance from the Tianmen Mountain cable car, making it easy to explore the area. The airport and train station were also easily accessible, which made travelling to and from the property very simple. It’s the perfect balance of tranquillity and convenience. Our hosts, David and his wife, were exceptionally kind and generous. They made us feel truly welcome from the start and went above and beyond to make our stay special. They even shared their Autumn Festival celebration with us, prepared a lovely breakfast, and thoughtfully arranged a taxi for our departure. Their home was beautiful, and their warm hospitality made the entire stay incredibly pleasant, leaving us with wonderful and lasting memories.

This Chinese homestay was recommended by my friend because he walked the whole area and it's the closest entrance gate to Avatar. We chose the paid service from the airport to the scenic spot. The boss sent us to the gate of the scenic spot every day and picked us up for free at the gate of the scenic spot at night. After tasting Chinese food, I found that I love Chinese food.

The staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable. The views of Tianmen mountain were incredible and it was a nice change of scenery after staying in the heart of Shanghai! We enjoyed breakfast and lunches cooked by the in house chef. The owners helped us with driving us to the cablecar as well and provided recommendations and travel advice for the area. I would definitely recommend staying here :)
