Had such an amazing stay! Were right at the foot of the ski lift at Togari Onsen which was a treat. The Lodge manager made the stay exceptional. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The onsens downstairs were also amazing.

Nathan and Akiko were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay a lot, it was quite close to Tsubame Onsen which we came to visit. The nature was stunning so we could stroll around.

The hotel is very closed to the Tangram ski resort. You may walk to the chairlift. Also, they have shuttle services to the lobby as well, which is very convenient for carrying a lot of ski equipment.

Our favourite thing about the property was the wonderful and welcoming host, Yuki. He was extremely helpful and it is thanks to him and his mother that Marushige is run so brilliantly. Our room was traditional Japanese style and extremely cosy - although we were sleeping on futons on the floor we were very warm. The shared bathroom was very clean and all of the other guests were very respectful. The location was perfect for both getting to the slopes on foot, visiting local onsens and getting dinner along the Main Street. One night we had dinner at Marushige and it was fantastic, we ate some very refined local cuisine - they even served us a local delicacy of horse meat sashimi (I have to admit that I could not eat it as I don’t really eat meat but my husband tried it).

Chohachisou Lodge is set in Nozawa Onsen, 50 km from Nagano Station and 4.5 km from Lake Hokuryuko.

Guest services was so communicative & and led me in the right direction on all questions prior to arrival. The room was so comfy, spacious & warm, with coffee/tea.. hair dryer. Cleanliness + the care for the lodge was notable. Distance to the gondola was great, & the walk up the road after village dinners was well needed :) I loved our stay, & would absolutely not blink an eye in booking again. Thank you for having us X I feel the pictures of the place on booking.com do not do the property justice. The lodge was more than I expected :)
