I fell in love with this place! The spacious room and common areas are very clean. The balcony offers a breathtaking view. There’s a small kitchenette where you can boil water, use the dishes, and store food in the fridge. Within walking distance, you’ll find a vegetable shop and stores with all the essentials. Simple yet delicious Sri Lankan food is available nearby. The room doesn’t feel hot, so there’s no need for air conditioning. I didn’t even use the fan. It’s a perfect place to relax and recharge after exploring the mountains and local sights. Getting to the center of Kandy is easy: take a tuk-tuk or hop on a local bus, which runs frequently. The host is an incredibly kind, hospitable, and responsive person, always ready to assist with anything you need. You can tell he truly loves what he does. He also has a wonderful dog, which makes the place feel even more welcoming. A pleasant surprise for me was that they sort waste here, which is rare to see. For just $13 a night, you won’t find a better place to stay in Kandy!

Fabulous location in the hills with views overlooking Kandy and infinity pool. Welcoming, friendly and attentive staff, beautiful decor throughout the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the food was fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

From the moment we arrived at the property, we felt welcomed and at home. With panoramic mountain and garden views from the terrace and spacious common areas, it’s a serene retreat only about a 15–20 minute walk from Kandy’s city center and major attractions. Our communication with the Punya was excellent and she helped as arrange scooter rental and catered to every need we had! One of the true highlights of our stay was Ravi, the most incredibly warm, kind-hearted, and attentive host—and an exceptional chef. From the moment we arrived, Ravi went out of his way to make us feel welcome and comfortable, treating us not just as guests, but as family! It’s rare to meet someone who puts so much heart into their work—Ravi truly is the soul of this villa! During our month-long journey across Sri Lanka, we stayed in many places—but No63 Amy’s Villa in Kandy was by far the best accommodation of them all! Can’t recommend it enough!!

Accommodation: ★★★★★ This apartment-style boutique hotel is brand new, having opened recently. The rooms are fresh and well-maintained, offering a comfortable stay with modern amenities. Service: ★★★★★ The staff at Kandy River Lodge provided exceptional service throughout our stay. Special mention goes to the reservation manager, Mr. Sashika, who went above and beyond by offering complimentary transportation to the train station - a thoughtful gesture we weren’t expecting! Overall Experience: ★★★★★ Kandy River Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. The serene riverside setting provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. Despite its unassuming exterior, the interior experience was outstanding. Final Thoughts This hotel offers a surprisingly tranquil experience that you wouldn’t anticipate from the outside. The combination of the beautiful location, comfortable accommodations, and exceptional service made for a memorable stay. We will definitely be returning to Kandy River Lodge on our next visit to the area and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in Kandy.

Ark Cabin is close to Kandy Lake and a short walk around the lake to the Temple of the Tooth Relic and a large shopping mall. Even though it is close, the location is quiet. The rooms are relatively modern, the staff helpful. Our room. Was large. There is a nice rooftop sitting area. Very good value.
