Lovely place to stay! Surrounded by coconut trees & so much wildlife. The room was spacious and clean, the bed is really big & comfortable. The property is about 7 min walk to midigama beach- so it’s a perfect location. Very quiet too! You cant hear any of the parties nearby in ahangama. Super sweet family that own the place! Loved it so much we extended an extra 10 days. Super recommend! Only thing to mention is sometimes the shower doesn’t go hot- wasn’t an issue for me but something to mention :)

From delicious lunches and dinners to delightful surprises and the most mouth-watering fish barbecue - probably the best meal I have had in the two months I have been in Sri Lanka. Immaculately clean, equipped with a kitchen containing everything one could possibly need, and beautifully built and decorated. Originally intending to stay for four nights, we found ourselves captivated by the charm of Charming Dark Lodge, extending our stay to twelve nights. Departing was bittersweet, as we had grown attached to the unparalleled hospitality and the tranquil ambiance of our temporary home. A particularly memorable moment was celebrating my birthday during our stay. Our host went above and beyond to ensure it was an unforgettable occasion, adding a personal touch that truly made me feel special. Without a doubt, if I ever find myself in Sri Lanka again, Charming Dark Lodge will be my first choice for accommodation. Wonderful place close to the beach, but still quiet and secluded. The hosts are super nice and helpful. Several bungalows are hidden in green, vast area so you feel isolated from other guests. The pool is great :). Breakfasts are diversified, so every day you can try different meal. Walking distance, 3 min., to Midigama center. We will most ceirtainly come back!

The perfect place to spend your vacation! If you want peace and quiet, this is the place to go. You are given an entire bungalow with a separate kitchen and lounge area. You will be the only guest at Channe's and all the host's attention will be on you. Lovely non repetitive breakfasts that will be cooked for you by your host, we were delighted! Channe, very hospitable, will always offer tea or any other help. You can also hire a bike from him for a good price and get a shuttle to the airport. The bungalow was very clean and bug free. Great bed with a good mattress. Will greatly miss our conversations at breakfast) Will definitely come back here again!!!!

Absolutely amazing people. Ive stayed couple of days and then came back during the same trip before leaving the Island. Kindness above the ceiling. Very warm and welcoming people! Samitha even showed me a lots of places around! If you planning a trip to the South or around this area definitely stop by for some days. If you travel by yourself you can play with Dixie (6y old golden retriever) and you will forget all the worries. Very comfy, spacious rooms with a Nice view of nature. Sooo much nature around. I recommend to rent a scooter in Ahangama as it is 15 minute drive from the beach side. They can cook at home anything you would like to try (even Chinese food) and it is better than any restaurant Ive tried in Sri Lanka so far! Nothing else I can say just Thank you, thank you & thank you!
