The lodge was set in beautiful gardens and lovely surrounding area in the mountains. The room was so lovely. Loved the terrace with hummingbird feeder on so we could watch the birds through the window whilst sat in bed. Everything about the place was well thought out, clean and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was really nice and they have a restaurant serving excellent food in the evening. The place is run by a lovely husband and wife team who were very friendly, spoke excellent English and were very interesting to talk to about the local area and life in Costa Rica. They were very attentive to our every need, constantly checking we were happy. We arrived early so parked the car there and went for a walk down the road. We were very impressed that they came to find us and collect us in their car when it started raining hard. They then put on a fire and made coffee for us so we could warm up. They made our last night in Costa Rica very special and we would strongly recommend anyone to stay there.

The cabin is beautiful and in a lovely location. Quiet at night and in the morning, with just the sound of nature. The beds are comfortable and plenty of blankets available. The open fire is also lovely. The cabin is spacious and cosy. Internet was also good as was the TV.

Laureceas Lodge exceeded our expectations. Incredible scenery, the room has an incredible view of the Savegre river and the sound of the river helps you sleep. It is very cold at night and the rooms have enough blankets, they even offer heaters for the room in case you need it. The food in the restaurant is great, all using fresh local ingredients, the coffee is some of the best we've had, it's produced on site and you're included in the room to try it. We will definitely go back.

Lovely location set in beautiful grounds. We sat watching the hummingbirds at the feeders for ages. Alot of thought has been put into the rustic cabins. Very impressed and the picture windows gave us a spectacular view of the valley in the morning. We walked one of the trails from the Lodge to a lovely waterfall. A bit steep and slippy in places but worth doing. Got pretty cold at night but plenty of blankets provided that kept us warm. Owner spoke good English which made up for our lack of Spanish. Definitely recommend this Lodge.

Our expectations were quite high, and the reality was even better! The lodge is perfectly located and spread in the middle of cloud forest. You get your private villa, each has its own privacy and fabulous views through the ceiling-to-floor windows. Yes, it is a bit of walk from the reception area, but that is the main magic there - the seclusion and privacy. I read here lots of negative reviews about the black bathrooms. I don’t understand why it is issue for you? And off course you are in the middle of a cloud forest where the humidity reaches 100%. I am sure that the staff is doing their best, but sometimes a bit of mould can appear (we did not notice it, but again it was mentioned in a review before). All facilities in the bathroom worked perfectly including hot water, so we had no problems. We very much appreciated that this resort is doing maximum to be eco friendly. They have their own special concept. You should take it as a Eco-lodge rather than classic resort. They also provide really great conditioner which helped a lot with my sun-damaged hair :-) Breakfast is a la carte and is very tasty. One morning we even ordered 1 extra portion and resort did not charge us for it. The onsite restaurant is opened for lunch and dinner (we didn’t try it). Within few minutes walk from the resort, there are 2 local restaurants + minimarket. Miriam’s restaurant is a must! We booked both arrival and departure transfers via Dantica and both worked perfectly. Driver was ontime and journey was smooth. We also booked the Quetzal tour via Dantica and it was well organized (for us, it was a bit of mass tourism, around 30 people chasing 4 quetzal birds, but we would never see these beautiful birds without the guide, so it was worth it). Every member of the staff were very nice to us and helpful, it was a real pleasure to stay there. It is one of a kind experience. Don’t hesitate to book this wonderful place.

Large ptivate cabine close to nature with large balcony facing the mountain. We saw green toucanets from the balcony while having breakfast! Comfortable bed with lots of blankets. Hot water available. Large parking area. No kitchen but tea and coffee machine in the cabine. Don't be too late for check-in as road to get there is a steep and it is not easy to drive at night.

The girl who greeted us was very friendly and not only gave us information about the accommodation but also about the restaurants and the different activities available in the entire area, as well as recommendations in this regard. The chalet is not only very comfortable and spacious but is also located in a privileged location. At night we were able to see the stars lulled by the nearby river and in the morning we woke up to the singing of birds where the goldfinch stood out. It's a great place.

This is a family owned cabin business with a small restaurant and great deck to view a large variety of birds including the infamous Quetzal. The stay was minimalist cabins but worth the stay to see many Quetzals. Restuarant has good selection of meals. The family were very friendly and helpful and even came to let us know that the quetzals were arriving for the late afternoon visit. We also had a great hike down to the waterfall.

This is worth the drive if you enjoy nature, scenic views, hiking and delicious meals! Fantastic chef, best food I’ve had in Costa Rica! Chalets are rustic, simple, clean and cozy which was perfect for our time visiting this beautiful section of the cloud forest.
