Rice terraces transformed into a stunning, well-tended garden with a few cottages, each one completely private, surrounded by nature and the gentle sound of flowing water everywhere. The only noise you’ll hear is the forest! The room is simple, with large windows overlooking the view. The family takes care of everything with kindness and love, always with a smile and true generosity of spirit. The food is excellent and abundant, and it’s clear that everything is made with love - from the garden’s care to every grain of rice on the plate. There’s a private stream you can bathe in, and plenty of nearby trails to explore. The scenery is breathtaking and the area feels truly authentic.

We got to learn how to prepare traditional dishes with the help of a friendly and passionate local team. It is a beautiful oasis of calm in an over-developped and commercialised Bali. The gardens are stunning, full of healing plants/herbs/fruit - all organic. The nearby walks thru the rice terraces are just gorgeous. The food, the people, the location - all make this the perfect place to stay if you want to experience the real Bali. Despite reading many reviews before booking, and being inspired by one in particular to stay for three nights, I still felt a bit uncertain during the journey. But the moment I arrived, those worries faded. Here, I felt once again the purest form of human trust. Even without speaking the same language, deep connection was possible—through a gesture, a glance, a shared smile. The atmosphere is incredibly calming, and the food gave me real energy, not just physically but emotionally. To be honest, I find it hard to put this experience fully into words. Sanda feels different from anywhere else in Bali. This is not a place for passive tourism—it gently asks something of you too. If you're looking for a space to be still, to read, to think, to meditate, or to unplug from social media and constant feedback, this is a rare and beautiful choice. I spent three days here reading and reflecting, allowing my life to pause. My conversations with Harry gave me a deeper understanding of plants—their fruits, their rhythms, their stories. December is durian season, and I know I will return. Time spent here feels like a gift. I hope you give yourself one too.

I loved the location — right across from the rice terraces. It’s very secluded and peaceful, with no noise and no road nearby. I slept really well; it’s quite cool there, which is another big plus compared to the hot south. I even slept under a warm blanket. The cottage itself is very beautiful, everything is made with love. The hosts offer breakfast for an additional fee, but if you plan to cook for yourself, bring your own food, as there’s almost nothing around. The only warung I wanted to go to for dinner was closed. However, there are two small shops nearby where you can buy some snacks.
