I fell in love with this place! The spacious room and common areas are very clean. The balcony offers a breathtaking view. There’s a small kitchenette where you can boil water, use the dishes, and store food in the fridge. Within walking distance, you’ll find a vegetable shop and stores with all the essentials. Simple yet delicious Sri Lankan food is available nearby. The room doesn’t feel hot, so there’s no need for air conditioning. I didn’t even use the fan. It’s a perfect place to relax and recharge after exploring the mountains and local sights. Getting to the center of Kandy is easy: take a tuk-tuk or hop on a local bus, which runs frequently. The host is an incredibly kind, hospitable, and responsive person, always ready to assist with anything you need. You can tell he truly loves what he does. He also has a wonderful dog, which makes the place feel even more welcoming. A pleasant surprise for me was that they sort waste here, which is rare to see. For just $13 a night, you won’t find a better place to stay in Kandy!

The view is just out of this world. Great place for the escape to the nature and fresh air. The host, Inthizar made our trip smooth with all small details being organised including transportation, suggestions of place to visit and small hike to the breathtaking view point. Very good location. Quiet and beautifully kept. Very clean. Best room we had in Sri Lanka. Host was friendly. Gave very good and local recommendations. Breakfast had 2 options, local and continental. Very well prepared. Host organized a very affordable day trip with a local tuk-tuk driver. Was one of our best days in Sri Lanka. Thank you very much. We will definitely recommend.

Our family with 3kids had a lovely and unforgettable experience at Hanthana. We are very happy the way Mrs. Melanie, Mr.Nandana , chef George, Samantha, Mihiranga treated as with the best service. The overall ambience of the property is amazing that we could experience the best sunrise, green environment with lots of plants , the waterfall with a natural pool inside the property. Rooms were spacious to accommodate a big family like ours. ‘Scout’ safari to mountains were also a nice experience. All in total we will give 10/10 for this lovely property. Beautiful accommodation in the hills surrounding Kandy. Actually some of my Kandy highlights were the lazy mornings and afternoons spent here. Punya is very responsive including when our train arrived later than expected, past 10pm, and also helped us arrange onward travel. Ravi is great, and made us feel very at home. He is also an excellent chef! The breakfasts are delicious, and we had something a little different each day. Thank you!
