He drove us and picked us up, suggested activities, and helped us out in an emergency when we needed to go to the local hospital. The rooms boast amazing views of the jungle, which is full of fireflies at night. They also have a projector so you can stream entertainment of your choice. 10/10 I strongly recommend Fern Hill cabins for your stay in Ella.

Located slightly outside the noisy center, you're surrounded by the jungle, and might be able to spot the giant squirrel. The room and terrace are big, comfortable, and very clean. There is a lot of attention to detail when it comes to decoration, we loved it. One of the best value for money accommodations we had in Sri Lanka. Plus Angelo is very nice and helpful! Look no further, book here, you won't be disappointed.

The breakfast was fantastic and served right on your balcony. The view is to die for and the balcony is perfectly suited to take it all in. Very clean and big room (it’s a lot better than the pictures show). We hope to come back here someday.

Possibilities of nice walks just behind the accommodation (you can go straight towards the Ella rock trail using the path behind the house). Great breakfasts and very nice host. Balcony in close proximity to trees / tree tops was fantastic. Ella is easy to reach by tuk-tuk. Had a good curry for dinner as well. Thanks for everything.

The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. For our group of six occupying three rooms, this was a wonderful place we truly enjoyed. It’s located outside Ella, but the 6 km walk along the railway is easy and filled with great views; the train ride is also a memorable experience and highly recommended. The accommodation feels authentic, with beautiful vistas and the gentle sounds of nature and local life. The host and his family are extremely friendly and helpful; we always felt safe and welcome. The owner even took us to a nearby tea factory for a fantastic private tour. Breakfast was a typical local meal; we apologise again to the host for not fully appreciating it. We highly recommend booking this place – every morning here is magical! 😊

The accommodation was absolutely fabulous—comfortable, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully designed to meet every need. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to make us feel at home. The food was another highlight, offering a delicious variety of well-prepared dishes that delighted our taste buds. This was the best breakfast we received in Sri Lanka. Overall, it was a perfect getaway, and we’re already looking forward to returning!

The cottage is basic but excellent for the price and has everything you need. The view is spectacular and quiet, as we did not want to be in Ella central which is too noisy. The cottage is an eight minute tuk tuk ride to town, with the host lifting us everywhere, plus took us to the start of the sunrise hike. And they made us the best breakfast in sri lanka. Also don't miss walking down to Bees Honey for a meal.
