Our host was incredibly hospitable and went out of his way to meet our every want and need. He drove us and picked us up, suggested activities, and helped us out in an emergency when we needed to go to the local hospital. The rooms boast amazing views of the jungle, which is full of fireflies at night. They also have a projector so you can stream entertainment of your choice. 10/10 I strongly recommend Fern Hill cabins for your stay in Ella.

This is a real gem. We booked the family room and the double room which were both clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. The view is just incredible and so relaxing. The scenery in the morning is just amazing when you see and hear all the surroundings waking up. From the start, we were welcome with such a nice friendly atmosphere and they went over their duty to make us happy. We all absolutely loved it and will come back. We stayed 2 nights in the cabin with the most amazing view on 9 Arch Bridge and the surroundings. It is a very peaceful place, clean and made with love, away from the noise and crowds of Ella town, yet very well situated to visit the main attractions. 9 Arch Bridge is only a 5min walk downhill from the cabin and from its terrace (or even the bed) prime views of the bridge and passing trains can be enjoyed. What we loved most about this place however, other than the stunning views and cozy cabin, were the owners (a lovely sri lankan couple) which were so warm and welcoming, absolute treasures. They were very helpful, interested and discrete and they spoiled us with delicious juices and food for breakfast and dinner. We recommend this place without a doubt to everyone that wants to have a beautiful encounter with a caring host family and have a magical stay in Ella nature.

A wonderful getaway, everything was as described. It is about 20 mins from Ella tourist central, which we loved and the host family were super friendly and responsive. Visit if you can.

Our hosts went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. The cottage is basic but excellent for the price and has everything you need. The view is spectacular and quiet, as we did not want to be in Ella central which is too noisy. The cottage is an eight minute tuk tuk ride to town, with the host lifting us everywhere, plus took us to the start of the sunrise hike. And they made us the best breakfast in sri lanka. Also don't miss walking down to Bees Honey for a meal.

Everthing was great! It was a Oasis of well-being in the middle of the nature. Everything is quiet and the view is a dream. The terrace with the pool and sunbeds was the absolute highlight. The staff takes care of everything and also carries your luggage up. There is also a main pool, which could also only be used by us. In the evening, they cooked just for us and we enjoyed the meal on our terrace. Breakfast was also very tasty and definitely sufficient. The Tea Cabin is beautifully furnished and clean with a view of nature. It was an unforgettable experience! Thank you for everything!
