We wish they had more vegetarian options… I think the breakfast and dinner options focus more on non vegetarian dishes. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The bartender prepares the best drinks and the views are spectacular.

There is a private bathroom with shower and free toiletries in each unit, along with a hairdryer. It is a wonderfully eclectic oasis of Namibian, charm and history. With the old car theme and imaginative decor, the ambience is unique. The staff were lovely from the restaurant, reception and bar to the extremely helpful Christian, who seemed to be everywhere and made sure we had a mechanic to fix a technical issue with our car. The food we had for lunch and dinner was also lovely. I highly recommend staying here, but make sure you book early!

Beds can be placed outdoors for sleeping al fresco. The view is just great. Each house has a direct view of the canyon. Very picturesque setting, spacious rooms and delicious dinner options. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bike tour with Filipp was super fun

Rooms at Alte Kalkoefen come with a with an air-con, with an extra outside shower. Light linens and wooden furniture are part of the décor. I loved Alte Kalkoefen! The sleeping lodges were beautiful and overlooked the savannah with constant wildlife moving through. The food was also great, I would absolutely recommend signing up for dinner and breakfast while staying here, relaxing at this lodge was a highlight of my trip!

A continental breakfast is available at the lodge. Great stay in the middle of nowhere, with super friendly and knowledgeable managers. Great service as well, and really everything included. We enjoyed the flexibility on activities offered and loved the canoeing on the Orange River.

Each unit comes with an en suite bathroom with amenities. the hotel is fantastic in a very remote location. very nice landscape, super food and a nice swimming pool. the staff and managers are also very friendly. We did the lion tracking with Nelson. Very nice experience. Thx to you Nelson we will be back

Great lodge and the perfect for our purpose of entering Mata Mata early the next morning . We enjoyed the views over the dry river beds, lots of birds and many ground squirrels
