A really lovely, peaceful place to stay, surrounded by the sounds of nature, with all the little whooping, scratching, hooting critters that abound. Nicholas, the host, was so helpful in sorting us out with various things, including day trips. It is quite a way from town so organise your food and drinks before you arrive, and don't be fooled by the distance on the map - the real distance is further as you bounce around swerving round potholes. Some taxis might not make the journey depending on the season. Here be dragons....

Stunning accommodation, friendly and helpful staff, an excellent guide, fascinating excursions, a scientific research centre which genuinely contributes to conserving the flora and fauna whilst helping the local community. Altogether the best experience we could have had in the Amazon. Not cheap but this was a once in a lifetime experience and worth every penny. Slept better here than ever before.

Excellent location right on the Rio Tambopata. All meals and numerous activities included. Located right next to the Amazon Shelter for Animal and Environmental Protection, which you can visit for a small donation and receive a guided tour. Very friendly and family-like atmosphere. I love the vibe of this hotel. An Amazonian paradise. Staff were attentive and helpful. We stayed 2 nights , before and after a trip into the jungle which worked well. Loved the view from room 1004 although a climb to get there. Pool is fine and barman super friendly.

Casa Amazonas was an amazing place that I stumbled upon. It was so peaceful, all of the facilities were immaculate, and the staff super attentive. The food they served was amazing and very healthy. We shared meals all together making it easy to meet and get to know other travelers. They also offered yoga classes three times a day and had other activities available for those on longer stays. I highly recommend this for a few days of respite after visiting Tambopata, I wish I had been able to stay for more time.
