Set in a former monastery in Carrion de los Condes, the hotel is located near to the Santiago pilgrimage route. Rooms in Hotel Real Monasterio de San Zoilo look onto the beautiful gardens.

I arriver on foot because I’m a pilgrim on Santiago way. The man at the reception in the evening was quite unplaisant, he continue doing is texting on his phone while I was asking questions, probably he didn’t like pilgrims. The rest of the staff was fine, professional and helpful as expected in a 4 stars hotel. Food at the restaurant was amazing. The building is a fantastically perserved convent from medieval times.

A very good selection of dishes to choose from in the hotel restaurant. A little pricey, but there was also a prix fixe pilgrims meal that looked quite good.

When you are walking Camino Frances it is normally to see albuerge just for money and unusual to see albuerge for piligrims. There was two choices for breakfast. 3,50 eur included tea or coffee and charcutleries. With 5,50 eur you could add fruit or egg to your breakfast. We had a nice two person room downstairs. The personnel was extreamly friendly, and made us pilgrims feel very welcomed and served us in a very personal and nice way. Really good memories. There is a restaurant nearby that the hotel recommended for us with a really good pilgrim dinner.
