The Castle Museum and Ethnographic Museum are must-visits, there’s so much history to discover. Rain or shine, it’s worth exploring, and on clear days, head up to the shrine on the hills for a stunning view over the entire Krujë valley.

Kruje is charming and small.

Kruje is charming and small. You don't need more than half a day to walk through bazaar and explore the castle views and museums. You could stay longer if you are planning to do hikes in the area which we didn't have time for. It is a charming small town with great views and a nice bazaar.

Krujë is a lovely spot with both cultural and visual appeal.

Krujë is a lovely spot with both cultural and visual appeal. One day is sufficient to see what there is to experience. I stayed an extra day because I had work to do online. Be warned, this is a mountain down so you will be doing a lot of up and downhill walking. Reconsider if you have mobility issues.

Lovely and clean place.

Lovely and clean place. Though quite small, there's plenty to explore - picturesque Bazaar under the castle with loads of lovely souvenirs where everyone is sure to find something to their taste and budget. Pretty restaurants and places of accommodation. Small shops but well stocked with things you might need. Shop owners and people working in restaurants speak decent English and the menus are available in both Albanian and English. The grounds of Krujë Castle don't seem to be large but there's a lot to explore and admire. You can walk among the romantic ruins, relax and enjoy the vista. If you venture out in the countryside, you can walk in olive groves among grazing sheep, goats and cows and if you are lucky, you can meet a local riding a donkey. If you love hiking, there's Krujë mountain. The best thing about Krujë is undoubtedly its location with stunning views - and that was what we loved the most about the place!

I love the peaceful layout of the castle area and recommend the Ethnographic museum showing the way people lived from medieval times. The hiking trail up Kruje mountain was steep but there was a good zigzag track, and spectacular views. There is an interesting site at the top with lighted caves and a shrine to a Bektashi hero. This can also be reached by car along the mountain road. I liked to eat at the Horizont cafe on the mountain road with wonderful views of sunset over the sea.

Spectacular little town looking over a flat basin between the coast and mountains. Two new and interesting museums in the castle. Great shopping bazaar. Plenty of great restaurants. Worth staying 2 days to explore.

Lovely family run hotel in a stunning location in Kruje - you will never tire of the beautiful views and sunsets in the evening. The hotel is extremely quaint and authentic, the food is delicious and freshly prepared. The wine is exceptional. Nice big room and everything was spotless. Very friendly hosts who care a lot about the hospitality they offer.

“Very convenient hotel for travelers departing from Tirana Airport. Only a few minutes away from the airport. The room was exceptionally clean and the staff were very friendly and professional. They served us coffee early in the morning and provided free transportation to the airport. Fantastic experience – I highly recommend it!”

Amazing location and view. The roof top with pool is large and very inviting. Receptionist was so nice. Free parking, easy to find. Loved the walking streets right next to the hotel. Loved Krujë in general. The room had a large balcony with chairs. Good beds and shower.

The just family are so helpful and friendly. They truly want to take care of their guests. They picked us up from airport (€30) and showed us around Kruje. The bed was very comfortable. The view is beautiful!
