Sarande has nice beach. The have boat trips from there.
Sarande has nice beach. The have boat trips from there. It's hilly in lots of places. The weather was great when we were there in September. There's public transport from Tirana to Sarande. You can book ticket online or pay at the station. The seats are numbered and they were strict about that. Sarande is a good base to visit other places some of which are accessible by public transport. There were lots of restaurants. Sarandë has everything that a beach and activity related centre could offer. Beaches, parks, historical sites, dining, accommodation are all available. I liked that the heart of the city was compact enough, you could walk everywhere. The city was safe and peaceful. Compared to other Albanian cities we visited, the city was cleaner, but there are also many unfinished and dilapidated buildings in the cityscape. I also want to say that the homeless dogs living in the city may seem cute, but a member of our group of friends was bitten by a dog and we had to go to the hospital for first aid. There are many restaurants and bars offering a large variety of food and drink choices. The area around the promenade very clean and easy to walk along. Lovely views across the bay towards Corfu. Sellers selling their wares on the promenade during the day, mainly in the evenings without the hassling of buying from them. He welcome me and he suggested me all the activities I could do in the city, from taking me to rent a motorbike to showing me the best beaches around. The room was very comfortable and the hotel is on the one of the streets with the best view spot in Saranda. The breakfast was large and contained both typical and international food.
